I doubt that he’s available in a trade and I’m sure he’d cost a lot, but they should call the diamondbacks about Ketel Marte. He would fill a lot of needs on this team and could fit nicely as a 2 or 4 hitter in the lineup. He’s also not being paid some insane amount.

The DBacks will hang the phone immediately imo

Even if we offer Gil, Dominguez, and picks.

Probably, but given their roster and who they share the NL west with, I don’t see a particularly large postseason window for them. He’s 31 now so that’s very much win now. He’s been a go to player I trade for in the show for years now :russ:

The agreement includes a $500,000 signing bonus and a club option for 2026, also valued at $5 million. Additionally, Loaisiga has performance incentives, earning $100,000 for reaching 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 innings pitched.

I watched this interview Joe Buck did with John Smoltz about his career.
I don't think Joe Buck is a good interviewer, but these days if you have an interesting guest, that's what carries things so it was fun to listen to.

One thing that caught my attention was that when the Atlanta Braves finally got over the hump and won the World Series in 1995 (after coming up short in 1991, 1992, and 1993), they played a video clip and Bob Costas calls them "The Team of the 90s".

  • Yankees Receive: RHP Ryan Helsley, RHP Miles Mikolas
  • Cardinals Receive: RHP Marcus Stroman, RHP Chase Hampton (Yankees’ No. 6 prospect)
Edit - this was hypothetical. My bad.

Wow.

They gave up Chase Hampton for nothing.
The hype on that kid was either insanely overrated or the Yankees know something about him that other teams don't.
