It Still Baffles Me That The Beatles Are Considered the Greatest Ever Without Any Sense of Rhythm

Beatles sound like they tryna be deep and different.

Great pop writers. What that means to me is u can pay attention to them and it’ll sound good, and u can put them on in the background and they could elevate the mood without being distracting.

But when you sit down and listen to the Beatles, u can hear how hard they’re trying.

But when u listen to Marvin it sound so effortless like it’s coming out of his soul without his permission.

And then it also sounds better in the background than any Beatles song.

When I’m in the grocery store and Marvin comes on, I’m floating thru the aisles. Dude is effortlessly psychedelic.

The question is not whether you like the Beatles or not.

The question is do you recognize their 1. technical and 2. artistic talents.

It's like when discussing Floyd Mayweather. Some people just cannot see that he is a technical titan or that has the best defense of any contemporary boxer. They instead interpret his skill as "running" (although the McGregor :wow: demolition might have helped some understand). Or they mix up his personal entertainment factor (for them) with his talent.

I don't think that the Beatles sound better than Marvin. I am far more likely to listen to Marvin than the Beatles but that is because of my personal taste in music. Marvin is not pop anyway

The Beatles deserve their place in the pop pantheon because they were better than most of their contemporaries.

I actually like the Beatles. Other posters here explained it better than I can in regards to the way the Beatles' recording techniques changed the game. They may not be the GOAT technical musicians, but Lennon and McCartney are two of the best songwriters to ever do it. George Harrison is underrated too.

Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt. Pepper's are all solid albums IMO.

WOW!.... I didn't know so many coli Brehs were into the Beatles like that. :ohhh:......................:mjpls:

It ain't like that in the UK. Or at least it wasn't.

UB40
Selector
Faithless
Madness
Skunk Anansie

That's part of why I think the UK produces the best pop stars :wow:. They took (and take) influences in ways that yt Americans would (and will) not.

Music is subjective you wet behind the ears ass nikka. Listen for yourself, not to what other people tell you.
Sure. After listening to their 1st 3 albums yesterday, I think they're pretty good. I still have like 6 to go, with the the final 3 being their best ones.

That was their "secure the bag" phase.

As soon as that ended they went from

Zeppelin is probably the only band even more overrated than Beatles and the Stones. Stole half their damn riffs from old songs and then had Robert Plant make moaning and squealing sounds over them.
Again its not what you play its how you play it. Hip hop is an entire genre based on 'stealing' from old songs :russell:

And yes, Robert Plant is a little over the top. I get mad at him sometimes. Dont nobody wanna hear you have an orgasm

They are garbage.:yeshrug:

Their songs are boring as fukk and I'd take Beach Boys over then anyday:ehh:

They are only pushed so hard in music history because of the universe shaterring impact of black music in the 1960s:ufdup:

ain't no way in hell you can tell me the Beatles catalog can go track for track and compete with with Funk Brothers, Holland Dozier Holland, James Brown creations from the same era.:birdman:

Motown got loosie 45 rpm singles that can shut down the entire Beatles catalog. For as huge as white people think the Beatles are black motown groups were even bigger. Talk to your grandparents and watch them admit that Temptations, Four Tops, Supremes were more popular than the Beatles in the mid 1960s:umad:

What have them bucktooth cacs created that is more impactful to society, culture and the economy than Funky Drummer and Funky President:damn::damn:. Put down what you doing and study the History and Discography of James Brown. The fukking Beatles are not worthy of picking up JB sweat rag off the floor. :damn::damn:

Last time I checked RNR is dead. What an impact to the culture:hhh:

The way travis scott uses auto tune is innovative, but that doesn’t make his music better than anybody else’s.

If somebody comes along and makes better music with your techniques, they are better musicians. It’s their music that will be remembered.

It’s more than just ability. It’s how u approach a conversation with humanity.

Imo, Travis Scott hasn’t used his own autotune techniques better than how french jacked it for no stylist.

Marvin is a Pop Icon the same way Pink Floyd is. Now that I think about it, name any pop icon and their music is prolly gonna be better than the Beatles.

The only time I hear the Beatles in other artist’s music is if they’re trying to sound like lesbians mimicking black men or purposefully goin for a psychedelic mood.

When i hear pink floyd in an artist’s music, it’s because their music simply has psychedelic properties. It’s just how they approach music.

I def hear the Beatles in kurt cobain’s melodies and lyrics, but kurt is a better singer than anyone in the Beatles by miles.

I listen to kurt because of the mysteriousness in his vocal delivery. The lyrics come second.

I thank the Beatles for shaping that stuff, and being great pop writers, but none of their actual music stood up to their peers as time passed.

The 60s was incredibly racist. That helped white acts compete in the moment. It’s still racist today, but cacs simply can’t rap well. You can at least pretend to enjoy the Beatles. U cant do that with cac rappers. And even if u say Eminem, who’s a great rapper, u can’t play his music in public without lookin goofy af.

But that racism couldn’t do nothing to make mid shyt timeless.

When I go back to the 60s, Motown, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, The Impressions, and The Delfonics dropped music that is more iconic than the Beatles actual music.

Beatles hype machine was unreal. Ppl will buy hype and even try to keep it alive. Look at one direction. U underestimate the selling power or a young cac who acts black to a young white audience looking for an identity.

But those guys I named. If you hear their music today, it still hit different :wow:
