What one do you have and how much RAM is in it?as part of this bootcamp i'm in, i tried to use a VM and install linux on there but my mac is so damn slow. Like it was damn near unresponsive. Taking another suggestion with using a USB, hopefully it works.
This all the lil macbook I got until i come across some more money.
I bought it in 2013, and it has 8 gigs. I managed to get Ubuntu on my flash drive, I guess what’s next is putting a partition on my HDD and then installingWhat one do you have and how much RAM is in it?
Are you just trying to learn Ubuntu? You can run it from a USB for that purpose Try Ubuntu before you install it | Ubuntu.I bought it in 2013, and it has 8 gigs. I managed to get Ubuntu on my flash drive, I guess what’s next is putting a partition on my HDD and then installing
i did this....but now i got two EFI Boot disks (probably one from the VM i didn't uninstall yet) and Ion know what's whatAre you just trying to learn Ubuntu? You can run it from a USB for that purpose Try Ubuntu before you install it | Ubuntu.
You should have two boot disk(your macbook and USB) and the icon for the USB is going to look different than the others. Your VM is not going to appear in the list. Try booting from the USB and see what happens. If it doesn't work, link the guide you followed for creating the USB.i did this....but now i got two EFI Boot disks (probably one from the VM i didn't uninstall yet) and Ion know what's what
I talked to the manager of it services at my job. He said once I pass my cert, he’ll pull some strings for shadowing. It’s a start. I just hope I continue to build and land that dream job that moves me outta here.
for whatever reason I got no notifications for this thread
absolutely. I’ve gained a bit of interest in security operations center, and possibly looking into incident handling, but there’s a free AWS bootcamp that promises CCP readiness so imma take a crack at that cert once its done
I’m contemplating what my next cert will be. I think I’m gonna do a couple smaller ones in June to give my brain a little of a rest (studying with suspected GAD has made this process longer than it had to be) and then map out my next step. For security operation centers. You will need a network plus, sec plus and linux cert. Typically what they will ask for (Tier 2 mostly), pretty much guarantees you a tier 1 position.
After tier 1, typically people move around to whatever it that they are doing. Those that stay tier 1 forever typically have no motivation. They are open to train because a lot of people typically leave.
Good things about soc: You gain good experience, troubleshooting etc.
The bad : new comers get shytty shifts lol. Its a 24/7 thing.
