I got dev coming up. Got a 66 on the 2nd bonso exam. Those Xray questions be fukking me up. Stephane Mareek's course falls short on Xray. Having to read the official FAQ and developer guide.
Im actually using his DevOps pro to study for sysops and dev. Alot more material tho.
I put my SA cert on linkedin.
Still waiting for them recruiters.

From what I realized with the test is that the ones that get multiple questions you have to know vs the ones the come up sometime
I def trust jon boso on everything now when it comes to AWS. Thankfully they link putside material on the answers

No not yet. I want to take my time for the sysops and lab like crazy before going for it. Maybe June.
Getting the other certs, or even just another one would def be a good look

I'm an older breh that is career transitioning and I just passed A+ and already starting to looking to start net+ and sec+ study. I know it's at the bottom, but I'm loving the process and learning new things.
Same boat as you with being older and ready for a career change. I finally feel excited about learning new things and hopefully the reward will be worth it at the end. We just have to keep grinding at the process.

How do you guys feel about working in a soc long term? I am honestly using them right to level up to a faang eventually. I am on the low studying for certs not part of my job. The money is great but after changing my shift, I have been sacrificing a lot. By the time I am off work, day is over, by the time I start my day, its time to get ready for work. I think my next move maybe move to auditing. Wouldn't mind traveling and writing reports n shyt. I dont want to spend my day trouble shooting foreever.

Got word back its a no (what I expected) Recruiter told me to keep in touch and when I apply again let him know so he can push me through. In 6 months Ill try again since now I know what to expect. Got a lot of good projects Im working now at my current role so Im def in no rush at the momentSooo I had the coding interview yesterday...
I honestly didnt know what to expect going into it. Since it's not a software engineer role. I figured it would be simpler than those SWE type of questions. And I was right
Basically had to parse a text file and return the devices with the highest output.
My solution was to iterate through the file and create a dict with the hostname/interfaces as the key (so they'll all be unique) with the output as the value.
I fukked up because I forgot the syntax to order a dictionaryi knew the method to use was sorted(), the problem was sorting a dictionary works different since they are orderless. I needed to use specific arguments in the method but my mind went blank
The interviewer knew what I was trying to do and understood I just forgot the args for the syntax. basically his feedback decides if they push me forward
To be honest I'm really only interested because of the potential $$$ day. I can pretty much be setup for life career wise and use the bread to get into real estate start my own business and eventually drop out of the game.
Im not holding my breathe though but it is good experience . I'll update once I get more feedback
