I’ve been trying to get my self in study mode. Balancing a job and side hustle to keep my bills paid, keeping my spirits high while fighting depression and keeping my focus on goals has been a challenge. I’ll admit I’ve slacked off in the past and could’ve been much farther in my self learning, but lately I’ve been on a steady momentum. Praying I keep it up. This video gave me a boost too.

getting my first cert, getting a tech career and moving to the DMV is my dream. I gotta remember that and stay hungry for it.

Breh a few years back I was to trade school to learn applied cybersecurity and that's what they used. TESTOUT

They charged 2500 dollars and literally used testout for A+, N+ and S+ training.

But yeah you should see a natural haired sister soon:blessed::noah:

Hell yeah I see her fine ass too :mjlit:

How are the labs for the N, and S I’m test out? The ones for A aren’t hard just annoying as fukk. Is it the same for the other ones?

It's not hard man, to be honest you could have saved that bread and did it yourself with some books and warez sites but the testout includes the test voucher I think.

That stuff ain't hard but the school I went to changed up now they offer the S+ and CYSA and no longer the N+ and S+.

Back to the study grind. The Kobe situation took my focus away. Was kinda listless these past couple of days.

Studying for the aws dev cert now. Need to double down on API gateway and Cloudformation. These CLI commands be trippin me up.

Uploaded my solution architect cert to Linkedin on Sunday. Still waiting for the torrent of recruiters yall be talking about:unimpressed: :skip:

I gotta retool my profile and resume tho:patrice:

Been thinking about the machine learning cert. Really wanted to get into last year, but lost interest midway through one coursera course. If getting the cert can serve as a good jump-off point, I wouldnt mind getting it.

Been unemployed for a few months, I needed this :mjcry:

Sysops is next:ufdup:
Congratz. How long it take you to study? And were you unemployed so you can focus on studying or you were unemployed for some other reason?

What experience you have on there?

Unemployed for other reasons. The company got rid of their MSP service and decided to go in house and needed someone with more experience.

By that time I had a year and a half with good experience but companies looking for level 2 helpdesk don't want to pull the trigger because I dont have like 3 years.

So for me I'm like

You want experience? I'll show you mothafukking experience

If I were to do it again I'll say 3-4 months max

I would have crashed and burned if the udemy practice exams didn't exist. Those exams are the devil and were harder than the exam but I guess it worked.

· Understanding of a wide variety of desktop applications.

· Experience working within enterprise ticket systems.

· MCP, MCSE, Security+ and similar certifications desired.

Respond to and resolve tickets in a timely manner

· Implement IT policies, procedures, and system controls

You may want to try and join this organization. The founder was interviewed on a podcast that I listened to and she seemed legit. Maybe there is a chapter in your city you can join.

Women's Society of Cyberjutsu

Edit: I found the podcast episode.

Funny enough I spoke with one of her reps at a hiring village at the Black in Cybersecurity conference I attended yesterday. I’m definitely looking into their initiative

Had my driver quit on me about 30 min ago. He’s been upset with dispatch for a while. Mainly how they talk to him. I started the paperwork to go with another company, but he tapped out before it could be finalized.

Breh said dispatch was fcking him over, bc they don’t like him. But dispatch gets their percentage off the loads we complete:patrice:so that don’t make sense. And I told him that

Meanwhile there’s been a couple loads we’ve missed out bc he dropped the ball. But those don’t count:skip:real talk I feel like I’m babysitting. I don’t even got kids. Grown men bickering on a daily basis (drivers and dispatch)

So I’m back in the hiring process.

My mindset is different and maybe y’all can help me
understand how it goes down in the civilian sector. When someone tells you to do something in the military, you do it:yeshrug:. People may talk to you crazy at the unit, but as long as your evaluation comes back good and they not messing with your money or schedule, you charge it to the game. That hasn’t been what I’ve seen. The most recent breh is 40 years old talking bout he don’t like the way another man talk to him:rudy:

Times like this make you want to get out the trucking industry but that truck note is coming on the 1st of the month
