cloud demand is high as fukk right now. If you really get all 3 of those certs, really just need the solutions arch you’ll have recruiters and companies blowing up your phone non stop every day. My bro got his a Azure cert a few months ago and We work together now. Dude be picking up their calls at work and yells at them to stop calling and to email him lmao. One recruiter was begging him to call his boss because his boss would yell at him if he didn’t. Crying in his texts and all :laff: He gets a lot of interviews but he was over reaching on the jobs he was applying for. nikka was applying for Devops jobs for $150k. He would even bark at them if they were offering $55 a hour that he wanted no less than $65 a hr, 1099, full remote :mjlol:

Does he have previous experience with devops. Honestly I would like to jump in that role. I don’t have any relevant experience in that field. I’ve been learning docker. Can a deployed app on AWS with docker be a portfolio item?
Am I overthinking shyt?

Nope which is why he's falling back. He's looking for junior roles now

Welp been almost 2 years at my first IT Job(technician). I'm looking to leave in 2-3 months, but still lost on where to proceed.

I have been studying Python and AWS lately. But I need something that is going to guarantee me a job ASAP. Something simple but more money than what I am making now. Was thinking of taking the System Administrator route for now as my next step.

Is that a good option brehs, or is their something else out there? Any feedback on what you guys jobs were after your first entry-level IT job would be great.

what is the content like ? is it technical like ccna? from what I see its about "auditing and security" ?

Well I started what would be the easiest domain for me so far. Protecting information assets and it seems to be really easy since I work in security. I am getting in my estimation 90 percent of the question correctly.

The auditing portion maybe the toughest for me to learn since I need to learn the process.

I would look at the qualifications for System Administrator jobs. shyt just apply and see where it goes. You have some experience so you have that. Grind hard on that AWS tip. With some Systems Administrator experience you can jump into one of those jobs eventually. And those are definitely 6 figure territory

Where do you want to go in IT? There are many avenues and that should be thr question you figure out first. You can get to 6 figures in any of the higher level positions so you should focus on what do you want to do for the next 20-30 years. Trust me, doing something you enjoy instead of doing something because it pays the bills will keep you from you sane in the long run.

The things that interest me the most is Python and AWS. I researched a bunch of other IT related fields but those two really caught my attention. Mainly learning about cloud so far. That is why one of my options is to aim for a DevOps role.

You picked a good one. Cloud is the hot market right now and the market is on our side. I plan on getting my AWS solutions arch in a few months. You could make bank as a side gig just teaching it on top of your main job.

Damn nikka I spoke too soon. So he had an interview today and he got a job paying $120k. Half travel and half remote. If y’all interested in Azure (or cloud) get it now. Basically he’s with a consulting company and since Microsoft stole the defense JEDI contract from AWS a lot of companies are scrambling looking for ppl who know Azure

Not his first experience but he doesn’t have much. He said he studied for a few months last summer and got the cert in September. He was applying for jobs since then but after a few job interviews he realized what he needed to focus on. He honed in on knowing ARM (access resource management) templates and he said in his interview today he just went on the white board and started writing shyt. They ain’t even ask him no questions just old white dudes like :ohhh: and they told him they’ll send him an offer ASAP. Between you and me his skills really ain’t that great and it’s nothing you couldn’t learn in a month or two.
