Without knowing the type of positions you are applying for I would say its your resume. Might need to have someone take a look at it.

The go to careerstop in Florida but those people don't kwnow IT like that so they don't know shyt.

South FLorida got alot of slow, church going folks who don't really know shyt about money and careers. They get this little shutty office jobs and think they special.

Who will I have to pay to have someone look at it? I don't know where to start.

Been professionally soul searching these last few weeks and after 15 years, I'm ready to move on. The consulting business is aight but all the trends point to many of my services being replaced by AI sooner than later :sadcam:

I finally decided to make the pivot to Information Security. I have a Net+ but the rest of my certs are on the desktop/client side of things. Coli bredrin, what has been your experience with cybersecurity? What are the paths I should pursue to keep eating?

I don't know what careerstop is but I'm guessing its a staffing service. Have you tried Indeed? I can't recommend a resume service cause I usually just get advice from friends/family on mine but I would think that if you posted it(remove all personal info) people on the coli could give you some advice. There are a lot of intelligent individuals here and who have experience with hiring people.

I can give you my opinion if you want. I work for a software company and routinely participate in interviews and read candidate resumes. Just PM me. Im not always on here so I'll check when I can. Just make sure to tailor the resume for the position you are applying for

Am I doing this right? I got 2 years in a SOC learnt little basically, is the CCNA going help a dude with no Network jobs on his resume in Cybersecurity.

I'm reading through the CCENT but I wanna make sure I'm on the right path at getting good experience.

I just posted a thread on the CEH for half off, that's 99% programs basically like wireshark, tcpdump, nmap and all that. I'm decent in that not great.

I think you need to figure out what it is you truly want to do. You have experience working in a SOC so you were in security. I don't know much about the CEH but it's not going to help you with a network position so that's why its a little hard to make recommendations without knowing exactly what your goal is.

Are you a networking guy or cybersecurity guy? I'm just scared on getting the CEH and training and not going a job again.

I'm a cybersecurity guy. No cert is going to guarantee a job. It will help get you the interview but you still have to be able to sale yourself. I don't know your situation or background but I would think that if you were able to work 2 years in a SOC you have some valuable skills. I really think you should have your resume reviewed and then try putting it out there again once you made some revisions to it.

I know the core issues of what is SOC is but I didn't learn Splunk, I learned Wireshark on my own and have a Custom GUI that makes it easier to tell where traffic is coming from and where it is going too so you could spot malware in the payload.

Honestly, they didn't teach that beside sitting up looking at the screen all night, I'm really trying to remember but honestly, it was just basically a computer operator job. I swear I didn't learn shyt there, I got the S+ myself off book study and learned ports and so forth myself but their custom GUI made it easier.

I'll find someone to look at this. One dude on here told me it looks straight.

What jobs are you applying for? I can see why you wouldn't get any call backs for network positions. I briefly reviewed your resume and I think you are selling yourself short. I'll go more in depth later today and offer some advice.
