Guess I'mma dip my toes in to this A+ cert game. My boss was pretty much tossing out free training classes all throughout DC to get the A+ cert. I'm not about to turn down free training out here.

Might as well dc is a goldmine for it. Get yohr sec+ and neywork. Get in that us contract game.

If you are looking to pivot for a "lowish" cost look into GA Techs online masters programs. They are like under 15k, you get a masters, and tech on your resume (its designated as an online degree but still gets solid looks because Tech is rigorous). I think they have an analytics degree so you accomplish your goal of learning some tools and concepts with something that may be a better ROI.

The Data Science cert from Udacity can be around 15k over 4 years. But at least you get Data Analysis, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Machine Learning under your belt.

Have you looked at the different fields of IT to see what area interests you? I don't know what EMR/EHR you have experience with but I know a lot of former nurses who made the transition to Epic Analyst and are making a killing. Outside of that, you will probably be making less money starting out if you transition to IT.

Without knowing the type of positions you are applying for I would say its your resume. Might need to have someone take a look at it.
