Good looks. There's no out of state tuition either. I had just narrowed down some schools in my state I was planning on attending...

One thing a lot of people have told me, is don't get caught up in the names and over pay for a masters.....

keep in mind, this is still g tech so it isn't easy to get in lol. Only 2 reasons to get a Masters: 1.Resume purposes to meet a requirement for something you are on path to or 2.Networking with Elite circles (meaning you getting into a top 20 program which will six figures)

That's where I'm at. I'm halfway through teaching myself a variety of skill sets, but the reality is, a lot of people / employers still recommend or infer that a masters is highly encouraged unless you're a savant.

Masters is the new Bachelors honestly in the tech world lol. All of the Indian cats they bring on H1B have masters so they use that to say they can't 'find skilled Americans with Masters' since prior to the MBA boom most folks used to preach the whole 'you dont need a degree to make it in tech' nonsense like its 1994

15k for university of miami cybersecurity bootcamp. 10 months 6 certifications hands on labs.. comptia a and s plus ccna ccna security and I think another network certification.

Too expensive but it's a option for miami dudes. I'll post more info when I get the email.

nah its its own degree but it's still respected as a Tech degree due to the rigor. I already have a Masters but if I didn't it would be a good option especially if you are trying to break into one of the 'big name' companies.
You weren't lying :wow:

Finally got an offer brehs, 33K a year entry Help Desk Analyst, full benefits & they will pay for me to take cert exams. Kinda bummed about the salary being low, its entry level & I have no experiences so that probably played a factor. Is this normal?
Yes. You shouldn't be bummed out though you should be looking at this as your start. Get in and make it a goal to move up within a year. Whether it's with the same company or another. Learn what you can and start finding what area interests you and focus on getting there.

My first job was a free internship that I did for 5 months

The fact that you got in the door is a big accomplishment

After experience and certs, you can double that salary easily

I went from nothing to 50k at my last job in a year and a half, hoping to get to 55k+ at my 2 year mark

Thanks brehs, yea I'm pretty stoked about getting a chance to get in the door, the job comes with a 90 day initial period, so I'm trying to work my ass/go through training to give them a reason to bump it up in 3 months
