I tried going that route but it's too much work for not much more money. Most companies could care less about analyzing malware on their Network.

But if you want to learn just follow the guys below.

Lenny Zeltser or Colin Hardy

Ohh no no, I'm fine with the content its part of my current job, but wondering if there is anyone in this thread that works in field. Cheers though!

There is a lot of demand for malware analysis, but more if you're a vendor rather than a general business. Where I am at the minute is a general business and I'm not bing pushed enough technically so I'm looking to bounce to one of the big vendors.

I did my training with Lenny Z. Good guy

No real IT exp, but I did do the google it cert, and I’m having a hard time deciding if I should skip the A+ and go for the Net+?

I’m told many different things, but someone told me to definitely forget the a+ and go straight to the net+ because it’s basically the same stuff and that a lot of other people he knows said to skip it as well.

It’s the feeling like I might miss some basic information, that gets me but idk.

Wanted more thoughts before I finally make a decision.

And what do you even apply for if you only have a net+ with no it experience?

It really depends on what you want to do. If you don’t need any A+ skills or info then no need for it other than to know. There’s some people in Networking that don’t know A+ stuff at all. I personally am gonna take the exam anyway I passed the 901 before the exam switched to 1001/1002. It’s not a hard cert to get tbh I just have to pay for it now since my program won’t cover it.

Honestly the CCNA pretty much changed my life...i was making 11.77 an hr :mjcry: at my first IT job..fukkers couldnt even give me an even 12 :russ: I was popped and company was raping me with that pay smh...i remember taking the job because i was desperate. once i got the the CCNA shyt just took off and i aint look back since :banderas:

You got the idea down :salute: now its time to execute that shyt. Plan a strategy write some goals out and stick to it..then Read this post in a year and be like:ohhh:

What have you been doing for a decade?

I got a question for you.

I was reading the Tood Lamme CCENT book and it's just really memorization so forth, then I got some David Bothal videos from a download site and I got lost real quick since he's using GNS3 and showing alot of actual routing and switching commands. I kinda fell back and got lost and overwhelmed so I grabbed my N+ book and moved for with that.

My question is when you got the CCNA did you self study or go to training for it? and do you advise training or self-study due to the actual commands and getting the right software?

If not do you think the N+ will open doors to a decent career? Or is it better to get the CCNA By any means possible? I was thinking the CCNA can go many places and is pretty well rounded, I couldn't probably do anything for Field to Support Work and so forth.
