security clearances really only look at your last 7 years however for things like felonies they make look at overall. you should apply anyways and it's really up to the adjudicators. just be honest (hiding shyt makes things worse). and right now may be the best time to do it because a lot of these clearance places just hired new adjudicators that probably don't really know what they're doing or maybe a little green idk but a juvenile record may not straight up prevent you from anything

Good looking breh . Ngl tho . I love this new job and see my self staying here for a couple of years while staccin certs. Most of my issues will be imaging computers and troubleshooting Zebra printers , Oracle apps , and the usual peripheral shyt . Just the job I was looking for
I work 12 hours on weekends and I will be the only tech there , so mfs looking at me like the golden child .

Just gonna work and study for my CCNA and Sec+ at my desk . I will see if they will help pay or some shyt . But I will definitely keep your advice in mind cuz my cousin works at VA in DC or something

Got my first Tech related job about a month after this post. Between the new job, getting over a break-up and me bullshytin, I just passed the CCNA yesterday.

Over the next four months, I'll be learning Windows Server, PowerShell and SQL skills. About to quit my current job and relocate to a somewhere with a better job market

Appreciate it. I studied consistently for 2 1/2 months (Neil's Course and Jeremy's IT lab).You need a 82.5 to pass, I made like a 85.

Good amount of easy questions on the test tho. Thought the test would have Labs to complete but it was all multiple choice except one.

I work at geek squad. Been here 8 months, cool job but I eventually want to be a Cloud Architect, so I gotta level up. Next cert will be the RHCSA and after that imma starting racking up all the Azure certs.

Shid you already ahead of me. Where have y'all had the most success applying for jobs? I just updated my resume and linked. I hear recruiters good for finding positions but I don't even know the process of getting touch with one

All I did was look on Indeed . Recruiters started hitting me up and they seemed desperate. I did phone interview, got scheduled for in person, then had to thug on the drug test. Easiest job process ever . shyt half the jobs that hit me up, I couldnt get because I don't have a license . No certs either . No degree, shyt I took my college off my resume cuz it was from 2013-2014 dropout type shyt

this like my first IT job that feel like IT . them craccers I last worked for had me doing all their IT problems AND typical inventory/retail shyt .

I spent the weekend making scripts with Notepad++

gonna try and make some scripts to deal with common Zebra printer problems . Just double click the .bat file on the desktop to reassign default printer, select specific driver , and restart print spooler

gonna try at work and hope this works . I've already been successful doing a script that loads our Tableau log in splash page on Edge in fullscreen, upon login

Azure has a cloud skill challenge. Get your Azure certs for free. I havent paid for 1 Azure cert yet.

Man now I think I’m getting addicted to scripting with CMD and Powershell

I wrote a batch file that installs ODBC bullshyt then copies 2 Oracle Printer apps from a network drive to the C Drive. Then the script installs a Zebra printer with Generic Text / Only driver , sets that printer as default… then launches the Oracle Label Printing app

My HBCU coworker breh gave me props for tryna get some load off our hands. I basically spent the day at my desk writing this script . I love the autonomy . You 6Certs brehs been eating high on the hog

I’m gonna look into that. shyt I got hella books on shell scripting but haven’t cracced em open yet

What’s the difference?
Shell Scripting is Linux, the others are Windows, and that's about it. Syntax is obviously different and stuff. I think they brought PowerShell to Linux but I never looked into it.
