Man I told my team every time that I Google everything. "Obreh how do you fix this error?" Copy and paste that shyt verbatim into Google :unimpressed:. "Thanks Obreh, you always figure it out." All I did was Google it :skip:

:snoop:
I don't understand how people don't understand such a simple concept. If I don't know something, I will Google it first before sending the ticket to the higher up wasting their time. There is a 90% chance any IT problem you run into has been ran into before by multiple other people in the world :yeshrug:.

The information is really available out there for mostly everything and people not using it to their advantage. My last job had us do inventory for equipment in Excel and I sped up my performance by googling shortcuts and formulas(I had zero experience beforehand). Then the whole team followed my format and I was a newbie. I swear just give me a couple of mins/hours throughout the day/week and if the task is not that complex, I will solve it by Google :lolbron:

No point in being in upper management. I have seen so many heads get chopped off at my company it is ridiculous.

None whatsoever :russ:. I was a senior manager before, that shyt comes with nothing but headaches :scust:. On top of that, some of this devils are mad insecure because a breh is ''higher up'' in the food chain :smugfavre:. There's also a certain ceiling in this corporate shyt :pacspit:

If your ass gonna be on the line, I would rather make bread and stay sucka free. That's the thinking that got me to do my consulting business :jawalrus:, I get assigned tasks and get them done :birdman:.

In the end, I make way more than senior managers suckers with none of the downside :myman:

You work 100% for yourself or is that just side work?

These companies are doing constant reorgs. I would hate to be a manager at my current company. They not hitting us hands on folks now since we are so thin.

With those consulting gigs, how difficult are these tasks? and how much experience is needed and how stressful? I got all the major certs done (CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CCSP), AWS solutions architect, AWS Sec..my gcp expired but I am re-upping right now to get the Google Cloud Architect, Sec and networking, then focusing on infrastructure as code, I am burnt out :beli: but when I leave here, I am trying to put myself in a position to make the biggest bag possible so I am rarely applying despite most of my team leaving the company.

I am trying to get like you breh. What else I need? Trying to get to $200K.

100% for myself :dame:

So I'm a GRC guy. 1st contract is as a risk assessor (3rd party / TPRM shyt) at a financial company :usure: and second contract (I transitioned from full time employee to contractor there) is as a compliance advisor :pachaha:. So the tasks aren't hard at the 2nd contract because I automated all the documentation and approach :pachaha:. Besides a couple of meetings, I get that work done in 4 hrs per week while charging 37.5h work:wow:. The real issue is making sure 2 meetings don't run at the same time :youngsabo:. After 2 or 3 years, I will probably keep just one contract :umad:. I couldn't do this shyt if I wasn't working from home.

You can make real money because I'm projecting to generate about 350K gross (1st year) revenue while paying myself 100K+ salary :why:. But I'm in Canada (lower cost of life) :ld:and I'm charging reasonable instead of full clip because I'm starting:steviej:.

I dont think you should go full on with those GCP certs, you can charge a crazy rate already just of CISSP, CISA and CRISC. Then you added AWS ? nikkas can't pay you breh :damn:. You have everything, all you need is to find a recruiting company that would find contracts out for you. Found mine in a week.

I don't have your certs which means you can make alot more than me :demonic:. Take a couple of months to plan your shyt and launch it:myman:

The reason I am doing GCP is due to my boy that's a higher up at one of those consulting companies, he wants me to bring me on. He is pulling close to damn near $200K. If I know my shyt, he will pull for me. Also too many aws certified people out there. I want to target a less competitive platform.

I want this big bag :francis: and hopefully I can double up with my current job. If everything fall as I am planning :mjcry:.

My experience is endpoint sec, ips, cloud sec(saas), siem etc. I dont do audits at work but I am a big believer in adding things to my bag since I have ZERO TRUST in companies.

Let’s say I get my Sec+ and hopefully a job from it. Which path could I take that leads to 6 figures?

Doesn't work like that. You could make 6 figures in a few paths it just depends on what you how and how well you know it. Focus more on what you want to do and what you need to do to get there.
Thanks

Canceled an appointment for a one-way video interview, and somehow I honestly don't regret it. The whole concept of it just sounds dumb af. A interview is suppose to be a 2 way conversation, not me talking to the computer screen and to myself. I am suppose to be able to ask you questions and whatnot. Could have just had me fill out a pre-screening questionnaire. What is the point?? :gucci:

Not really, they need and you are selling.
Nothing hurts you by getting exp. and time selling yourself, plus they always open up time for asking them questions.
One way video interview, just means they want to see you not they just want to talk.

I get what you are saying but I like interviews where it is a 2 way conversation. I like the flow of things, they ask me questions, and I ask them questions back.
This I am basically recording video responses to the computer and uploading it for them to see. Shyt sounds like I'm auditioning for a TV show :mjlol:.

Plus it looks n sounds like they can easily discriminate through the videos. I doubt there is a HR person sitting their going through hundreds of videos :unimpressed:

Oh they always are discriminating.
Better believe they are giving indians, asians, and whites preference over you.
