Maaann, somebody needs to make a database or a site where we can rank and expose shytty recruiters :stopitslime:. I try to maintain good relationships but sometimes dealing with these idiots will have you wanting to slap them
That might be a good project that people try to tackle to build their GitHub portfolios. Pick a stack they want to learn and see what they can do :yeshrug:. It's actually a good idea.

IMO there is no such thing as a shytty recruiter. If they truly were shytty they wouldn’t produce and wouldn’t be in that position for long. You just have to understand how they think

They are paid to fill positions, their paycheck depends on it. If they honestly think you have a good chance to get the job they will bend over backwards for you.

As much as I hate dealing with them, kissing the recruiters ass and making them feel like you are the greatest candidate ever really helps. They will go to war for you and really put you on the hiring managers radar. And it’s not because they like you or want to see you succeed, they just wanna get paid.

If recruiters are ghosting you or not really putting in a lot of effort, it’s because they don’t believe in you. But when they do believe in you it’s a beautiful thing. I’ve been on the hiring side and had recruiters talk up candidates so much I started thinking…”damn girl are you fukkin this nikka or something?!?”

If recruiters are doing that, they're unprofessional and thereby shytty. They're the ones doing the cold calling and scouting. Majority of the time, they initiate the contact.

They might have cold called you and 50 other dudes, plus hit another 50 up on LinkedIn. They can’t put effort into everyone, so they focus on the few they believe have the best chance to get them paid. Basically if you got ghosted that mean your phone screen didn’t impress them or your resume was lacking compared to others.

It’s lame that your career can depend on impressing someone who doesn’t know shyt about the job, but that’s the way it is :yeshrug:

I guess I ain't shyt if all I am getting is scams or recruiters hitting me up for jobs with low pay/long hours/no benefits/contracts.

It's tough for people entry level-intermediate level. Feel like I am being taken advantage of because I am unemployed right now, and these guys think I am desperate. I'm gonna grind for a couple of more months and pick up the necessary skills to target higher paying jobs, tired of the bullshyt. These job boards ain't it :francis:

It doesn't get much better the higher up you go. You gotta just stay on the cutting edge of technology in order to demand bigger salaries to make these bullshyt tech jobs worth it.

Damn breh, that shyt sound depressing :russ:
I know all jobs and positions come with bullshyt, but I didn't know tech would actually get worse. A few years ago I was getting more calls/more money and I had less experience :francis:

Shyt makes zero sense how one person has to be a jack of all trades now for a entry level position :mjlol:.

What would you say is the best position though that has reasonable pay and less bullshyt? I know it's dependent on a company also but what is like the best overall position? I can't venture out of tech right now cause I'm already too deep :sadcam:

You're looking at it the wrong way. There is no best overall position. All positions come with BS if the company allows that foolishness. It really comes down to how the company is run.

Thank you for the advice. That makes sense, so should I stick to looking at Glassdoor reviews before applying to a company or is there anything else I should do further? I'm tired of wasting my time with some of these bullshyt MSP:unimpressed:

Well that's your first problem. MSPs are supposed to be for you to get in, get some quick experience and get out. As for company reviews, read them but be sure to fully understand the context. Every company is going to have negative reviews but what is actually being said in the review is important. If work-life balance is important to you and you see multiple reviews saying there is none, you might want to reconsider working there. But if it's not a concern for you, it might be the perfect place:yeshrug:

Nothing is worst than going through multiple interviews and then having disagreements about salary. Most companies be trying to pull some BS on folks and hope that they are desperate to take anything:camby:
