Took a L today on the google cloud network engineer exam :martin:.

Time to run it back :beli:.

I understand every damn concept BUT the exam really want you to know the details of everything. I work with networking products all day, most of the time I am reading a PDF document before applying it.

Guys I need recommendations on what IT route I should take. I have experience in technician work for basically a big data center/refurbish center with loads if various equipment.

I don't want to deal with customers like that and would rather be the IT guy for in house problems for a company. What positions are those called, that pay decent money?

System Admin?

Yep system admin. I would get hands on Office 365 admin center/ ms exchange. learn basic scripting power shell/ bash. Windows server and basic Linux.

Also be familiar with aws/ azure

Basic security also. If you don’t have sec+ already I would look into it.

Thank you, that sounds perfect. Question though, isn't learning those skills on the same path as becoming a DevOps Engineer?:lupe:

PMP is a must at this point :youngsabo:. Why work hard when I could just drop shyt on I.T security engineers desk and ask them has this been completed yet :birdman:. What's the timeline on this implementation? Has this been patch yet? :heh:.

I just got my PMP in December, started this new job in June. On day one, they gave me the task of managing hosted environment upgrades at data centers all over the world. It’s basically all emails/coordinating/updating JIRA tickets. 100% remote.

I did have to call in to observe an upgrade at midnight to 2am last night tho.

Which is the reason why I am tempted to go that route. At this point, you can honestly get a second remote job and be fine and make bank.

What would I need to learn to get an entry level cybersecurity job ? Which certificates would I need?

At my job, it is network plus, security plus and linux plus, this will be the foundation for most entry level jobs. Lots of info here..but it doesn't all have to be technical there is privacy management , auditing, security p.m etc. who all make money.
