Are you proficient at math
Want to get the IT degree but the math is scaring me off nowYeah, it was always the easiest subject for me. Engineering degree is math overload but truth is basic math is all you need at least everywhere I have worked. No one will ever ask you any related to calculus. I most likely would not be able to solve a calc 3 problem right now lol.
The bolded is the absolute truth. I can't think of a time when I had to use anything beyond algebra and that was to write some scripts to make my life easier. Do what you need to do to pass the math requirements but don't worry too much about actually having to use it.Yeah, it was always the easiest subject for me. Don't let it scare you. There's a few classes in the curriculum just there to weed people out - don't be one of those people.Want to get the IT degree but the math is scaring me off now
I wouldn’t recommended quitting right now
Certs are good but experience is key and the more time you have under your belt working the better
Keep working, get the certs, do projects based on the certs and then try to move on
I’m telling you this as someone that has my AWS cert already. These jobs posts and HR people are the real people you need to push through

Similar to what I did. That Computer Organization, Calc, and Physics are the ones that separate the men from the boys. Calc and Physics I've never actually had to apply on the job.Degree path I’m currently looking at

Well I’m up for the challenge. I’m not paying for the degree anywaySimilar to what I did. That Computer Organization, Calc, and Physics are the ones that separate the men from the boys. Calc and Physics I've never actually had to apply on the job.
I didn't either .Well I’m up for the challenge. I’m not paying for the degree anyway
I didn't either .
Aren't you just starting out with zero work experience? That other dude is starting out already having worked in sales.
I wouldn't pay any kind of real money for an A+ certificate unless it was damn near free. You can probably buy a Udemy A+ course for less than $100 bucks.@JT-Money I couldn't find any places offering free classes in my area. what are your thoughts on this?
