Help desk in 2017 for about 6 months.

Desktop support from late 2017 to mid 2018.

Junior sysadmin from mid 2018 to early 2019.



I took the new ones so they were tough in my opinion. The Developer one was the easiest because it focused on fewer services than the Architect exam.

What did you focus on learning to help you go from something general like desktop to moving into something specialized like cloud engineering?


What should I learn to prepare me for the aws certs?


I want to follow a similar career path in linux and cloud based but I don't know how to secure a junior sys admin job when I just know basic general stuff at the moment. I heard networking knowledge might be important too

The job I’m currently doing in the military is not IT related, so if I hop in the IT field it would be virtually with no experience

Doesn't matter honestly, once you get your certs just being military will be enough to get you a lot I.T positions when you have all the desired certs. I think it might be because of a good leadership thing, or possibly security clearance but usually former military members should not have an issue.

Hired for a new level 2 gig, 22 an hour .

After it took like 2 months to get my first IT job, my 2nd one took less than two weeks from application to onboarding, 3rd one was also alittle less than 2 weeks, and now this 4th one was just 5 days of job searching to onboarding .


Have been studying for CCP but as per advice earlier in this thread, soon once im comfy with that imma just skip to the solution architect n cop that by february or bust

Pushing for the CRISC, renew my aws solution architect and get the aws devops.

I work second shift so I am hoping this will land me contracf gigs for the day time. I need to get my money doubled up so I can invest n retire.

This role is apparently remote for now but in 2021 you can be based in NY or NC...Imagine making 200k in NC

my old job said they really hope I give a full two week notice before leaving but my new job wants me to start on monday .

should just blow this popsicle stand or wait it out?
