Yup, that’s what it is
The reality is that they are never going to find that perfect person.
But when you and 5 other people are going for the position that you want, you need to showcase how you are better
It sucks but you will have to hunker down with the help desk but stick to doing those projects and getting certs
by the end of the year of you could have a nice project done and even a AWS cert and it will look better for you
I’m still in help desk myself and that’s the direction that I’m going towards

I’m tryna do one of those pro certs, SA pro prolly. Then Azure architect for that multi cloud flow and maybe CKAD to cap it off.
Actually had a top consulting company reach out mid summer but they pushed hiring for the role to Q4. It’s kinda like scrum master type position but they’re mostly an AWS shop. Also got a lead at another top consulting joint.
However seeing as they’re both in limbo, might as well get some solid certs and gain more knowledge in the meantime

Have till Friday to sign up for it. 90 spots available .
I'm new to all of this but I'm ready for a career change having lost my job six months ago due to COVID. I've been lurking the thread for months so I know what I'm getting myself into though.
Thinking about giving it a shot
