I want to delve more into Cybersecurity/programming. Going to pick up some books this weekend.

Here's my list:
The Linux Command Line, 2nd Edition by William Shotts
Linux Basics for Hackers by OccupyTheWeb
Violent Python: A Cookbook for Hackers by TJ O'Connor
Black Hat Python : Python Programming By Justin Seitz
The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security By Kevin D. Mitnick
Ghost in the Wires By Kevin Mitnick

What do you guys think? Would these be good books for a beginner or any must read books that might be missing from my list?

"U.S. banks and tech firms have no need of H1B Visa talent"
"U.S. banks and tech firms have no need of H1B Visa talent"

There's absolutely no reason why banks and tech firms should complain about the lack of H1B visa talent, Salzman tells us. "Annual hiring demand for top talent positions is probably, say, 5,000 new hires a year. Make it 10,000 if you like," says Salzman. He points out that the U.S. produces 1.9m bachelors graduates a year, plus hundreds of thousands of Masters graduates, plus PhDs: "It seems implausible they can't find that number among the 1.9m."

How easy would it be for you to get hands on experience working with Cisco equipment on the job?

If the answer is not likely I wouldn't waste my time until I could get hands on experience at work.

Use GNS3, pretty close to real equipment, use packet tracer for the commands...

Of course physical just know how to plug it in and turn it on.

I'm honestly getting fed up with Red Hat

2nd time scheduling a remote exam and it's been absolute bullshyt.

Despite being wired directly on a fiber optic connection and able to surf the net at warp speeds....When I access their remote exam environment...latency up the ass. I mean it takes 5 secs for 1 keystroke to go through. It probably doesnt help that they're outsourced to India which is where the remote exams are hosted from. Then the proctor bytched about my webcam quality when its 1080p with 60 FPS with autofocus. Bullshyt. That's on them. But since it's red hat , it couldnt possibly be on them, right?

If possible I'll hold off til I can sit for a classroom exam in-person in the future, but honestly I'm bout to just go with another linux vendor for the mean time, Red Hat has this sexy veneer of being such a great company, but in reality, they're some old bullshyt.

Linux itself is amazing..Red Hat is fukking Garbage with immaculate branding I'll give 'em that much.

Might go with LFCS or LPIC as an alternative at this point. I just want a linux cert to let mfers know I'm solid with linux at the minimum.

Anyone got any experieince taking either one?

Last exam I took at a testing center before COVID hit people taking Microsoft Azure exams had it worse. The exam would lock up in the middle of their tests preventing them from finishing. They would have no choice but to reschedule their exams. One guy I overheard was on his 2nd to last question when the exam site crashed.

Basically just a 3 hour lovefest for Amazon being a great place to work. Some good tips on resumes and interviews, but pretty much you can find that anywhere online.

Wish they focuses more on the actual jobs they are hiring for, or be like an actual career fair and help you out in that regard.
