The only thing in the US favor in a scrap with China is that America has more war experience, which actuallu counts for nothing seeing as how America got bogged down 20 years in a dustbowl shythole eventually having to flee and leave everything behind.
Let me fukk your whole world up real quick with a list of advantages the US has over China in a war scenario.
1. Energy Independence. If you don't understand the vital necessity of this then why are you even here?
2. Geographically Secure. Sitting on a warm Mexico and wearing a Canada hat. Atlantic on one side and the Pacific on the other. China is surrounded by US allies, US bases and has the Pacific Fleet all up in it's backyard.
3. Sanction Powers. The US can cut the spigot of trade off on any number of things with China and all of the US's trade allies will follow suit. China can't do that.
4. Military Superiority. Self explanatory and this is just what the US alone brings to the table. Lettuce not forget that if the US is attacked Article Five will be evoked therefore bringing in NATO.
America can fight abroad, but not at home..

I'm gonna magically teleport the PLA to California, Washington State and Alaska. 6am on a Monday. All geared up, well fed and on the move. The US is completely caught off guard. Police and local National Guard are wiped out in a couple of days. Then the civilians start clapping PLA troops left and right. Then every single thing that goes boom in the US starts moving West and China is done. No other way this goes down and that includes the magic teleport.

2,400 Americans died in Afghanistan in 20 years. Russia loses that in Ukraine per month. Imagine comparing a half hearted occupation with like 8,000 soldiers to a full blown invasion where Russia is literally drafting cats off the street to go and die in the mud or run into machine gun fire
Afghanistan was safer for US soldiers than a Friday night in south side Chicago.
