KD on the season

31 PPG 6 RPG 5 APG

52% FG. slumping from 3 a bit at 32%

Nets 5-2 with Simmons benched or DNP
Y’all brehs beat me to it. Faghots been quiet since they bushed Nash :umad:
4-1 since Kyrie got suspended.

Not that he's the reason, but it's interesting how both of y'all conveniently ignored that and chose the narrative you did for why they're winning.

Lol.

There's a dude who scores 30 regularly that didn't even make the play-in last year.

But I guess they are paid to keep quiet about him.
That’s the main criticism of Bron the past few years. He’s still putting up stats but he can’t stay healthy and doesn’t affect games the same way.

KD still KD :stopitslime:

Vaughn got the brehs hooping with no Kyrie and a limited Simmons

Kyrie being out helps alleviate the issue. Having two iso scorers is hard to build an offense around. So it make sense that the offense is smoother now.

The only reason the Celtics improved last year is because Tatum improved a lot as a playmaker. And even then, Brown had gotten better too.

The thing that is different since Steve Nash left and Kyrie isn't playing that numbers don't show is KD is not only scoring he is facilitating more and the thing Jaqcue Vaughn is doing is a) managing KDs minutes better and b) getting more and better defined roles from the role players.
Steve Nash was a bad coach

I’m hoping BK can transition them two into those roles but it’s easier for two young, star wings to be able to commit. Two older stars set in their ways are harder to convert. KD seems committed to setting his teammates up so far but Kyrie needs to learn how to affect the game in other ways like KD is trying to do

Uncertain grounds
KD is at his best when he feels obligated to act like the best

He cant pretend kyrie and simmons are on his level because they arent playing and look at the results

Hes so concerned with fitting in and making teammates feel comfortable that it can be a detriment to the team at times

NETS GAVE UP 119 PPG UNDER NASH.

NOW THEYRE GIVING UP 91 PPG

We can revisit once Kyrie gets on the court under Jacque Vaughn’s system. He’s got everyone bought in :manny:

Yeah it's ridiculous that people are saying this team is better without Kyrie. Credit to Sumner and the other guys for stepping up but Kyrie's ability to make shots and open up defenses is only going to make this team better.

I would have loved if Udoka came back, but anyone but Nash and this team flourishes.

This right here.

Vaughn was probably an assistant thinking “this is bullshyt” and had no power to change shyt. So glad Nash is gone.

According to coli GMs the difference is not Nash’s lack of coaching and ability to gameplan but instead it’s Kyrie being a liability out there :mjlol:

The Nets are still running the same type of lineups.

I don't know where the fukk this idea is coming from that they're no longer running small lineups like that. They had a three-guard setup there against the Clippers for an extensive stretch. They're using the same personnel as when Nash was coach (except for Cam); Claxton is their only big, so they have no choice but to go small when he's off the floor, and his minutes have remained the same.

The only real changes are superficial - players are forced to step up without Kyrie, and it's the honeymoon period with a new coach.

Their schedule has eased up over the last 5-6 games, that's largely the reason why they look better.

They opened the season against:

Pelicans
Raptors
Grizzlies
Bucks
Mavs.

All playoff teams (from last season).

Their last six games without Nash they've played:

Bulls
Wizards
Hornets
Mavs
Knicks
Clippers

Only two of those are playoffs teams, and the Nets lost both those games.

The Nets have only beaten ONE playoff team this season and that was when Nash was still coach.

We'll see how they fare over this next stretch and then we can reassess:

T'Blazers
Grizzlies
76ers
Raptors
Pacers
T'Blazers.
