I hope the Marcus Smart hate stops soon. It's clear he's staying and Bradley is going.

I've maintained all along that Ainge is going to keep Smart over one of Thomas/Bradley. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it :yeshrug:

But at this point it's beating a dead horse

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle, for one, does not think it is a mistake for the Celtics to be thinking big.

“They’ve got a legitimate chance to get to the Finals with that team out of the East,” he said.

In the locker room afterward, players were pleased to gather yet another win, but not giddy. They mostly turned their focus toward Wednesday’s home game against the 76ers, which would immediately be followed by a road game Thursday against the Bulls. They believe winning teams do not take pauses to pat themselves on the back.

We aint going anywhere unless we get some real shooters on the bench, a player besides isaiah that can create their own shot and a big man that can rebound.

But could they really beat the Cavaliers? Well, in the right series, sure. The Celtics have multiple guys they can throw at LeBron James, including Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson and Gerald Green (Jonas Jerebko and James Young are also good for a few hard fouls). They also have two of the only guards in the league who have a prayer of staying in front of Kyrie Irving in Bradley and Smart. If Kevin Love’s health continues to be an issue, and the Celtics can contain James and Irving (both big ifs), the Cavaliers are going to struggle to score...That’s the biggest “if” heading into the playoffs, though: The Celtics defense. It’s struggled this year. The team likes to go small, especially in the fourth quarter, and their defensive rebound rate has struggled, giving opposing teams opportunities for second-chance baskets. This usually doesn’t matter because Isaiah Thomas is a human torch at the other end, but it is something that the Celtics will need to address heading into the playoffs.

Yes, the Celtics could absolutely knock off LeBron and the Cavs in the East | FOX Sports

I'm not sure about beating the Cavs in a 7-game series, but I would expect the Cs to push the series to 6 at the very least.

Multiple sources tell CelticsBlog that the Celtics and Magic had discussed an Ibaka deal, but the Celtics were not willing to include Terry Rozier. The Celtics are not interested in surrendering assets of value, including first-round picks and prospects like Rozier, for short-term acquisitions that do not clearly put them over the top for title contention, per sources. The Raptors became motivated to go all in after the Love news, as some around the NBA believe he may not make it back this year per sources.

Awaits mass outrage from Celtics fans on The Coli.
