I wish we could just somehow dump Jonas and keep Avery, Smart, and Jae. :sadcam:

The Celtics were scheduled to pay Bradley $8.8 million for the 2017-18 season, the final year of his deal. Instead, they save $3.4 million by taking on Morris’ $5.4 million contract, which expires at the end of the 2019 season.

Bradley continued his progression as one of the NBA’s premier two-way guards, averaging 16.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game on 39 percent shooting from downtown. He became one of the league’s best defenders at the two spot, often defending the dynamic opposing guards his All-Star teammate Isaiah Thomas couldn’t.

Celtics trade Avery Bradley to Pistons, per report

Definitely sad to see Avery go. :mjcry: One of my all time favorite Celtics and I am old as fukk so been watching since the Bird/McHale/Ainge/Chief/DJ days.

I don't think we could have kept him next year, though I would rather max him than IT (neither is really a max player, just given the choice), so I get moving him. Morris seems like a :trash: return for a player like Avery, but with only 1 year on his deal, I guess his value in the trade market is lowered.

I hope next we can sign a guy like J Green from Memphis or W Reed from Miami with the 2.7 mil or so we got leftover as part of this deal.
