this was not a lucky punch..... manny has fought the same fight for damn near 10plus yrs....

fight the same person 3 times..and he literally fights u the same way all 3 times...

3rd time u should know what to look for..

Pacquiao-Rios.gif

juan saw it miles away with manny hesitating

watch the 1st 2 jmm vs manny fights manny was tearin em him up with it...

manny then turns around n does the same punch that got him slept against rios...

While i agree this wasn't lucky, i also don't believe in rematches because of timing.. You can be the better fighter but if someone can time you properly because they already fought you then it's hell. A lot of rematches people get knocked down or knocked out simply because of timing.

Ruiz jnr punch against Joshua was the definition of a lucky punch.

Just been knocked down, comes back with the hook of the decade.

A Villa Straylight.
If a fighter loses his composure during a fight and begins just firing, wildly then yes. But this is rare in combat sports as people's muscles are so fine tuned that they do what they were trained to do regardless.

I would only even consider this if there are two fighters that have no experience fighting AT ALL. other than that I cant see a scenario where there is a such thing as a lucky punch with boxers who have been fighting for a while even on the amateur level. either the puncher saw something or the person that got popped made a crucial mistake.

Sure, it was all those things, it was also years of refined technique.

But it was also lucky in the context of that fight.

its all about how you define "luck"

I could say Robbie Peden was lucky because Nate Campbell was beating the brakes off him til Nate dropped his hands to his side. had nate continued he probably wouldve stopped Peden or won a decision at worst. Peden's punches werent lucky...but the circumstances could be deemed as luck or pure stupidity.

Yes, just very rare and mostly at low levels.
Just by the rule of big numbers it must have happened at least once that someone knocked his opponent out during a wild slugfest where he threw a perfect shot accidentally, not even looking up
