Wow, this is the most natural I’ve seen him act in a movie.
He could easily eat if he stuck to black romantic comedies, but he’s been running from his black side since Nation Of Domination.
If he ends up in a Tyler Perry movie, that will be the non-Harlem kiss of death.

If you’re a boxer predicted to win by KO but it has to go to split decision, yeah you got the victory but people are gonna look at you funny for struggling against a lesser opponent.

That’s not how the studio is going to see it. Scrapping over the finish line is not a victory to major franchises. And it’s not going to in-still any confidence to make a sequel either.

Because with these movies you can't just go by the listed budget, there's also the hundreds of millions that go into marketing
These big $200+ mil budget superhero movies usually need to make around half a bill just to break even, and are considered flops if they fail to make over 600mil
These studios ain't making superhero movies for them to only make 400mil, and Rock wouldn't be in regroup mode right now if that movie was a success
