If you watched him play last year you found out he's the real deal. He's got Tim Duncan like potential and could go down as one of the all time greats if he stays healthy and develops a little bit more in the post. If I had the 1st and 2nd pick in this years draft and Embiid was healthy I would of probably offered both of them to the Pelicans for Davis he's that good.

Not sure how LeBron changing teams makes him any less of the current best, kinda just piles on the fact that he succeeded more at two teams than Anthony has at one. For one, the two shouldn't be compared, Anthony is far younger.

AD doesn't travel as much, he gets the vote

Say Bron has another year or two on top. By then, I could see it happening. I don't think it's a reach :yeshrug:
I think it's a reach (barring injuries of course). He'll only be 31 years old at that time, his athleticism isn't going to drastically swan dive (plus he's already losing weight anyway to compensate), and he's infinitely more skilled than The Coli gives him credit for. I can see Durant closing the gap even more in the next couple of years but I don't see LeBron being ousted as the league's best player.

He has MVP type impact/ability

Are people expecting the Pelicans to make the playoffs this season?
I hope not. The West is still stacked, and the Pelicans are behind non playoff teams like the Suns still (even though I expect the Mavericks to fall out of the playoffs, but that could be off base). New Orleans could conceivably make a playoff run, though, if Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, and Eric Gordon (especially Gordon) play the full season and ALL play to their potential. But that's one hell of an "if".

I said that hypothetically but this sort of helps my point . The longer Bron is on top, the better chance AD has to leap KD

Yeah... I just can't really see Davis leapfrogging Durant though just based on how well Durant scores, which is always going to be the most important thing you can do in the league. Davis will never be the scorer Durant will be, and I don't see Durant falling off any time soon. I try to keep all of my projections within a three or four year period though, because anything past that is WAY too far to tell, and there are too many variables involved... a random player making drastic improvement (a la Steve Nash), injuries, some young'n on the come up (whose to say Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker don't become the best player in the league in this timeframe), and of course the turnover with teams.

The OP is definitely reasonable though; if Anthony Davis became the best player in the league one day I wouldn't be surprised at all. I don't expect it though.

The main determiner is going to be team success, as unfair as that is. To be considered the best player in the league, Davis is going to have to at least be in the championship contending conversation, and he's not the GM.

wake me up when Anthony Davis has the skillset of Julius Randle.

Can Davis do that?

Don't over-extend yourself right now, bruh. Wait till the season starts and the desperation sets in. It's too early for you to be lookin this raggedy already.

those are pretty ridiculous expectations, considering Bron is in his prime and KD is pretty much an all time great lock
I dont see what's ridiculous about it. He put up a 20/10 with 3 blocks statline at only 20, only a few players have done that. He inproved his scoring average by 7 ppg from his rookie year, he's only gonna get better. That's not ridiculous at all for him to be the best player in the league

To be honest, IMO KD is now better than Lebron :yeshrug:. Last year was his first year being better than Lebron but with Lebron aging I wouldn't be shocked if KD is the best player in the for the rest of Bron's career. KD is 25 and just put up 32-7.4 and 5.5 :ohlawd:. What used to be the deciding factor in the Bron vs KD argument was that leBron was a much better defender. Well last year KD was a better defender than lebron by a good margin. It's just that it takes a while for people to be willing to accept this. If KD outperforms lebron again this year, KD >> Lebron :ld:. I know a lot of you coli brehs hate KD but times have changed. KD you the real MVP:to:

Bron is in his prime still, KS is just entering his ... its very unlikely Davis will reach their level

Its not a knock, they are 2 of the greatest to ever play
