I hate saying that Education is useless, but at least half of these college degrees should be offered free.

I keep telling people to think of college as a business, not school. Go to community college for 2 years and save a nice amount of cash. I saved about $16,200 just in tuition as a result of it.

word, I'm debt free....

They practically giving them away for people with my major

But for African Americans majoring in Physics or Engineering, my "gawd" there's sohh many scholarships out there for them. Full ride, spending cash, paid internships......

No reason to be in debt in you're a black engineering or physics major...

what they dont tell you is that to go annywhere in any of those jobs requires NON STOP learning and tests and certifications. i have two bachelpor degrees on that list.. hasnt done anything spectacular yet for me. gettin my masters tho

Honestly, most people I know in "college" constantly struggle with pre-alegbreh

I know people at JC's who been taking pre-Alegbreh for years.

They can't transfer or get their AA. Most universities require that you complete at least Calculus I in order to obtain a BA. I sometimes and I feel like telling them they might as well drop out.

I always put them onto:
Khan Academy

Then they try to hit me with some lame excuse, like the instructions were hard to follow.....

it just hurt my soul seeing i think the last state of the union and obama sayin "science jobs in this country are fine"...WHERE? maybe cause i live in NYC/NJ area theres no jobs and their all in west bumblefukk but i shouldnt have to leave my my home and goto kentucky n shyt with 100gs in debt just to fukking live. shyts ridic. the only students i know in my school with my same degrees who got hired are international students cause the companies get breaks for em. whole system fukked. maybe when they go back to india i can have a job... but then theyll fire 100 americans and hire 1000 foreigners

Yeah the current economic situation is bad, but I'm pretty sure every industry period, regardless of degree. Is using the same tactic of needing 3-10 years of experience just be qualified for a job.

Not to mention, people with experience, who've been working at companies for 20+ years are being laid off, left and right. A lot of things are truly uncertain in this economy....

Everyone's getting f*cked over except, the 1%....

This is why I'm giving America about 2-3 years to shape up, after I graduate. If the economy is still tanked, after that, I'm moving to a STEM powerhouse country like South Africa(huge potential) , Germany(full force / peak) or Brasil(potential / bad ass women )

I'm on the fence, some people do really well in English and psychology courses. I personally suck at writing.

Idk, why basic math is sohh hard for some people to comprehend. But pretty much everyone I ask what math they're taking, responds with some ground level math course.

IMO I think it's only recently that kids are aware of the debt associated with college.

as for myself, when i started college i KNEW i was getting a job to pay off that debt. now i just got debt. being 25 now, i wish i never went to college and just started my own hustle... now im dependent on the man..

I think the only schools that are really worth going to after undergrad are schools that are specialized in one thing like dental, law, eletrician, medical, plumbing, etc. because they give you a profession. You are known as that of what you went to school for and theres a better chance to make money because you are a licensed professional and with those occupations the unions are very nice. Its such a huge decision but I think I'm going to try and go to law school after I graduate and if I cant get in I'll just go to electricians school and say fukk it. Btw to answer OPs question Higher education isnt a scam. Mortgage, credit and leases are.
