How is it a scam if you know what you're getting into?

Right. Like the damn costs and course outline aren't on the website.

If you're going to go into Corporate America, a degree is necessary at this point. However you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for it.

History (education field). I know, not any money in education. My situation is just an example of a much larger problem in this country...which is what I hoped to get opinions on.

you should go into private education. not like a private school per se, but administration of for-profit education. it could be a slow grind at first and you'll need seed money but some of these centers eat off of schools fukking up and kids failing.

with an m.ed you have some of the credentials at least. more than a lot of people making bread in this field.

or check out jobs at accreditation services.

scam the scammers breh. independent advisory board that someone carries all the weight and decides if schools are viable it or not:yeshrug:

I personally dont believe in the higher education system, save a few professions, like healthcare, engineering and maybe criminal justice.
I do however believe alot of employers want to hire people with degrees, even if its not related to the job.

Basically, go to school and work someone when you graduate. Or make money off your natural talent. FYI: only 24% of the people in the U.S. have college degrees.

Well if you pick a stupid major without a lot of job opportunities that's on you. In a capitalist world you make money based off your skills whether acquired through learning or natural and most of the time a combo of both and the rarer your ability the higher the pay. So if you chose to be an English major or some other bs major that's on you. The other way to wealth is by fulfilling needs in the market and being the person that supplies the service or good or investing in products or companies that provide services or investing in real estate that will be in demand in the future and you gamble on its future worth. Rinse and repeat once a measure of success is attained in any of those areas.

Obviously skills come in all varieties physical skills (athlete, model)which have a shorter shelf life and mental abilities(engineer,it,mathematician) which can last most of your life. A financially sound person will have a hand in a bit of all the above honestly.

I hate saying that Education is useless, but at least half of these college degrees should be offered free.

I keep telling people to think of college as a business, not school. Go to community college for 2 years and save a nice amount of cash. I saved about 20K just in tuition as a result of it.

College isn't the problem.

Reckless capitalism is.

Until we fix capitalism, everything will be a scam because we're overpaying for everything (inflation). Costs can be risen without law. Cars, homes, clothes, food...it's all apart of a broken system.

Fix the source and watch the WHOLE country fix itself. :birdman:
