First dude said “The series s struggles to meet 1080p on damn near every major game in 20 fukking 21.”

I keep asking y’all which games and you can’t produce which ones.

From my limited research it seems the only game is the most recent Asscreed in performance mode.

All last gen systems are playing
That game at 30fps and sub 1080p, so the Series S still outperforms them.

If y’all got another game/situation then post it.

Otherwise y’all just in here making up lies for Sony stan reasons :martin:

Yea it was the only console available everywhere. Them nikkas lowkey shipped mad of them shyts which was smart cause they just built the install base like crazy off that. U can still go on Best Buy right now and cop one no problem.
I honestly think it cost too much to make a Series X or PS5. Both aren't releasing as much

The series s sounds like a good deal until you realize the small storage will eventually require you to buy a memory card. That adds up to the price of a series x. You might as well by the better console with 2x the storage from the jump.
You need an additional hard drive for all of these next gen systems

I think Guardians runs higher res on One X than Series S. But runs higher frames on Series S. Series S is better for performance cause of how strong the CPU is. But I believe the GPU is more powerful on the One X. It’s a trade off tho because the CPU in the One X is so underpowered.

Series S $299 expansion card $220

Series X $499 with double the storage and better specs.

Series X seems like a better deal imo, I don't know why that makes yall so angry but I'm done arguing about it.

The GPUs are more or less equal. It’s just some games Series S has to lower resolution to hit a higher framerate whereas the One X couldn’t hit that framerate no matter what it does.

Guardians is only 1080p on PS5/SX. The One X runs at a higher resolution than all “next gen” consoles so I’m not sure it’s the best example.

When “last gen” is cut off. The One X will be cut off with it. Series S will still play games as long as “current gen” exists.

And with all that said, Guardians still isn’t an example of a game running at 720p on series X which is what was claimed in this thread:martin:

I know I saw DF say some games run 720 I just don’t know which ones. Man I’m not shytting on either console but I do feel One X still holds value but I understand why they don’t wanna support it anymore. But shyt. Xbox Gamecloud could remedy that issue as well.

I searched and could only find one.

it’s asscreed and that’s in performance mode where it hits 60fps.

Last gen you couldn’t even imagine playing a large open world game like asscreed at 60fps, even with the upgraded consoles.

Some games the resolution takes a bigger hit than you would like but it’s still a great value to be playing “next gen” games for $300. Nowhere else is offering a value like that especially with Gamepass.

Series S is the prefect “casual” game console. Which is why people are buying them up right now.

:why:This is utter conspiratorial nonsense but I’m sure you knew that while typing it out. MS is engaging in planned obsolescence now? I don’t know what the penetration has been for 4K displays but I don’t think the majority of households have one. Just say the damn thing doesn’t appeal to your needs (that’s fine, it doesn’t to mine either). Would I have preferred something like the PS5 digital SKU? Sure, but there’s still a market for this.

I'm glad you responded you must be one of the stupid ones

this will be the 4th time I write the shyt

they cant keep XB1X as an option with Series X
they would be in eachothers way

you are agreeing with me by saying the majority of houses dont have 4k display
if thats the case (which it is) then why would they put out the old 2017 XB1X console with 4k, and just a series X with 4k
for the 4th time that's the entire point of giving different options... you take the XB1X and restructure it and offer an alternative

when I say its in the same fukking box people start moving goalposts on reality and price point
all it is, is a restructured XB1X ... instead of higher GPU, they saved that for Series X and added the processor and higher speed drive to keep the price down (as an option)

people arguing why do a series S ... but then bringing up XB1X is retarded... its the same shyt but restructured. Its in the same framework, just worked to not clash with the Series X like the XB1X would
nobody in 2021 is trying to buy a 4 year old processor and drive for 4k as a second option. You would just get the series X ... financially speaking nothing else you or anyone else bringing up in here would work at a lower price point as a second option.
If microsoft just wanted to keep XB1X and upgrade it for your second option ... then what do you know!!!!! it becomes a series X dog :snoop: you have to offer a different option, and whats cheaper than just restructuring what you already sell?

The point of the thread is why series S exists and why have it? I'm saying its what they already offered since 2017 its just restructured into the series S. The lifecycle of the XB1X cant exist when Series X is out. All 3 units are basically 1.5 - 1.75 - 2.0.... Series S is just a hybrid of XB1X, yall are just falling for the losing 4k step back and not seeing how that would completely fukk up resources into Series X. You would split your sales and availability, then everyone would just buy the other version. The black friday sales never happen if you dont restructure it because you wouldnt even have the resources to put them on the shelf, you wouldnt even be able to enter the market at a second option price point. Its the same as if they put out Switch Lite and Switch OLED and then discontinued the base switch. The other two are born out of the original but in different directions to market. With Xbox and Sony you cant just keep old shyt sitting on the shelf because they are already struggling to get those chips period. They need to go towards the marquee system at that company... not to the second option

Its the same concept of why they sell Nissan-Infiniti-Lexus. You cant just make a Nissan a Lexus and charge people Nissan prices. You give the consumer options from the same build with what features they need. But you cant give them the same features at every level. Everyone would just buy a Nissan at that point. This is a very basic concept I have no clue how people are struggling with it.

Just me bringing up Xbox Scarlett proves you wrong. This shyt been planned and waiting ... they use it to undercut competition. The Scarlett build up was a pump fake ... then they dumped the real resources into Series X ... and made sure the 2nd option would undercut everyone else. Why step on your own toes when its a simple game? Sony did it simple by just not adding a drive and deducting cost from that. But its still the same exact system. You cant make a second option for microsoft unless you do it the way they did

It is a next gen system that plays the same games at a lower resolution.

1X can do 4K better than the Series S but its CPU can't compete, and it cannot play games like Flight Sim, Next-Gen 2K titles, etc

Is it worth getting or should I wait for Series X to become available?

I was gone cop a Switch MarioKart bundle for 299 but it sold out so I was thinking bout using that for the series S instead.

I normally just get PS but I might fukk with an XBox too this gen. I mainly wanna play 2k and Madden on next gen. I see a lot of bad reviews especially for 2K and I been fukk 2K since 2K20 but was kinda interested in seeing how it is on next gen.

Edit

Just saw the One X is actually more expensive than the Series S :gucci:
