Nah the SSD matters. The series S is way faster than the one x.. I was playing my save of WWE 19 with my girls one x and it took forever to load a match with CAWs. However i'm in and out of matches in a minute on the Series S. I'm not even going to start on my Old Xbox one VCR. . It not as powerful as the X but it's still better than some options out there.

I mean, you can drop in an SSD into a One X (SATA3 was an upgraded component), and you have to clone for internal drives, but you can get significantly better speeds. All XBO consoles have USB3, so even adding an external USB SSD will speed up the games you put there significantly.

The series s struggles to meet 1080p on damn near every major game in 20 fukking 21.

1080p.

The One X >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Series S.

That's why they scrapped the One X so fast and made it impossible to get.

If you have a One X and gamepass, you realistically eating well for about 3.5 more years.

What game would the One X struggle with these days to hit 60fps??

They know this, and that's why they hampered the One X experiences on newer titles on top scrapping the hardware. Ideally, they'd have pushed better speeds and cores to supplant 1080/1440p frames better and strapped the vRAM amount to have a stricter resolution cap on developers for the Series S, but they kinda botched it.

They won't even let you run Series games off an external drive now. It would be easy to sidestep the proprietary port and make the Series S more enticing in terms of storage upgrades, but no, of course not. It's a stupid hardware lock in software that only makes Seagate money.

There's a difference between the CPU's. The Series S has the same CPU as the X, and the One X has a beefed up X1 CPU with a nicer graphics card.

The One X is not "better" than the S in anything other than displaying images in 4K. Obviously it can still play games designed for cross-gen/smart delivery, but you can't even play Flight Sim on it. Nobody is going to be playing Starfield or anything that's not cross-gen on a One X outside of streaming it

Flight Sim to me is that high end PC flexing type of game no point on a console with a controller.

Resolution matters - at least to be 1080p. Games are performing poorly on the S in that regard slipping to 720p

Again I don't see the point of it. Especially since the one X was the same price point. If I was into Xbox, one X would keep me fed for years to come

went to bb sunday to get the 1tb drive, end up picking up a S to put on my work desk

u can swap the drive from your x to s to continue your game :eat:
You shouldn’t even have to swap. It’s all saved in the cloud. You should just pick up where you left off no matter which system you use.

So the console selling one day out of an entire month (with no other consoles available not even last gen) got yall doing victory flips?:mjlol:

We’ll see like always that the numbers will tell the real story:unimpressed:
Remember, they don’t care about console sales though:mjlol:

yall are just arguing in circles as usual. this is the only section of the forum where I get quoted and people disagree with me while agreeing at the same time

like I said last page... series s is just xbox 1 x but modified to offer you the opposite of series x
which makes sense, who would want to buy the same thing?

you either get the 4k and 60 frames
or you get the series s for upscaled and faster load times
this isnt a hard concept.... xb1x would be obsolete, why offer a system 3 years later that is slower and only offers 4k and no frame boost or drive

the same shyt you are saying makes no sense in the series s, is exactly what the XB1X would be. If you wanted features you would just cop the Series X
why offer 4k and slower and 4k and faster... rather than 4k and faster and 1440 upscale and faster? if you wanted 4k in the first place it wouldnt even be an option. Its literally the same console but reversed so it will offset the series X

to say XB1X is a better option is admitting we had next gen tech in 2018 which I've been saying
xbox has been running 4k since 2017 its not like we are missing out on it. You either rocked with XB1X for the past 4 years or you upgraded to the Series X ... Series S is just an option if you dont need that. Which is the same build as a XB1X. People on this site are incredibly dumb, its almost overwhelming. If you would say Series S is dumb to have... you would be an idiot to think still making XB1X would be a good idea, completely taking away from Series X profit. Just consolidate your 2017 product and offer the opposite option for people who dont care. Plus who is gonna buy an XB1XX? That would be like them dropping a PS Pro Plus, who's gonna buy the same shyt 3x in a row slightly upgraded each time for full price? The whole point is to offer options and undercut margins, not release the same exact shyt.

:why:This is utter conspiratorial nonsense but I’m sure you knew that while typing it out. MS is engaging in planned obsolescence now? I don’t know what the penetration has been for 4K displays but I don’t think the majority of households have one. Just say the damn thing doesn’t appeal to your needs (that’s fine, it doesn’t to mine either). Would I have preferred something like the PS5 digital SKU? Sure, but there’s still a market for this.
