I think that some people fail to realise that success in the tech industry takes more than just technology. You can have a brilliant original idea for a app/application and develop it yourself with your coding skills BUT...come back a month later and the app store is flooded with copycat/clones of your app. What would make your app successful over and above the other clones? So yes more black people should learn to code but to achieve the level of success of these big tech companies will be more complicated than just IT skills/certs.

In order to make you app successful you need a huge non-technology component to your company for marketing and for funding the maintenance of servers and infrastructure. This takes a lot of capital investment.

Many of these huge tech companies like Twitter etc have never made a profit. However what they do have are investors and big banks throwing investment dollars at these tech companies year after year to pay the bills and expand said tech companies - with the expectation that one day they'll make a profit.

Not saying it can't be done but it's easier for a 5 white guys from a tech startup than 5 black guys to get investors and banks to keep investing in their company/ideas.

ummmmm so what are you getting at?

*My Experience only going forward*

It helps if you have a woman, someone who was already there before you took off real big, someone who is ambitious herself. Someone who knows how to move in all social environments and is very charming. She can help you network better at social events and she'll free up more of your time to focus on developing revenue streams instead of having to focus on the day to day.

Ask me anything tho. When it comes to black people banding together the game is to be told not sold.

back to square one...

I googled for racist lawsuits and basically found nothing for the 3 largest software companies. That's over 300k people at any given moment. I found like 3 cases and 1 of the was Indian claiming that they don't make as much as cacs (although both Microsoft and google have Indian CEOs).

This dude Bill Gates is the biggest tech guy in the world quit tech to help Africa. Zuckerberg sold stocks early and gave that money to Newarks schools. I'd say that it's the least racist industry, one or a few racists working at a company does not make a company of 100k racist :what:.

People are discouraging black people to enter these fantastic companies with that BS. Not only that, they are probably discouraging managers to hire black people cause they're afraid of cats reaching for racism for not being promoted before an arbitrary cac. Cats are really disrespecting real victims of racism out here, it's as bad as broads faking rape cases.
If you scream that everything is racist, no one will give a fukk about it.

And that's related to racism how?

moron cac be gone :camby:

Stop spreading lies breh. Theres a shyt ton of black people in the tech industry at all levels.

Nobody is saying there no black people in the tech field. They probably make up 1% if not less. What you need to understand is that the tech field isnt something that our culture embrace and support like we do with sports and entertainment.

Y'all really gotta stop this bullshyt narrative of "black culture is the problem."

Just because you don't know any black people in technology doesn't mean they don't exist. I meet black engineers, developers, DBA's, PM's, CISO's, etc all the time.

All they gotta do is go to a nsbe conference. 1000's of black engineers and technical professionals are out there.

And as someone who works in the tech industry i can tell you half of the jobs are at these companies are nontechnical. Very High paying careers too.. Google, Microsoft, Facebook, apple, etc all have huge marketing, legal, HR, accounting, and customer service departments. And they dont hire blacks in any of them either.. Not sure why folks continue to push the the false narrative that the only jobs in tech are coders and software engineers.

Again, stop spreading lies. I go to industry tech events and meetup groups all the time and they're literally filled with black people at all levels. Like I keep saying, just because you don't know any black people in tech, doesn't mean they don't exist.

What industry do you work in? Because I usually hear that bullshyt from dudes who don't work in the technology space so they're operating off of baseless assumptions.

Black culture isn't anti technology. If you research the statistics black people use technology more than any other group in this country. Our problem is we don't have access to tech jobs for obvious reason.

Pretty straightforward, investors are more willing to invest in a company [especially tech] if it's run by white people.

For black tech startups to achieve the levels of success that we desire, there'll have to be some capital investment infrastructure that black entrepreneurs can tap into in order to fund their businesses/ideas to get their ideas traction in teh marketplace.

Shut the fukk up, I moved to a completely white neighborhood when I was 14-15 from a completely black one. I know about racism, and I think it's extremely disrespectful to real victims to shyt out the bs dudes are talking about in this thread.

"Oh it's racists cause no black people live where a lot of tech people live". "Oh they are racist cause they move to places where black people live and increase the price".
"Oh it's racist cause PayPal was started by white people".
Get the fukk out of here, dudes saying that type of shyt don't know anything about racism and probably never experienced any. And they are most likely just sad losers with both self hate and cac hate in their blood.

There's problems such as our education level increasing but stem levels decreasing in the last decade. Being 1% of ST graduates, 4% in math and stats. How can you blame the industry for that? Laws are racist, politicians are racist, history that put us where we are is racist, there's plenty of racist structures the tech industry is not one of them. That racist individuals exist in every field is obvious, that doesn't make the fukking field racist.

blacks are def eating, but nowhere near Dominating the industry as say the Indian brehs are.

And ironically the only people complaining about Tech being racist are White Men, just go on sites like glass door and read the comments calling Indians racist.

These tech geniuses aren't probably not conspiring to keep black folks out of the industry but lets be honest these creators probably had alot of white privilege connections which helped them build their empires... you know deep down inside that's true. :yeshrug:
Bill Gates himself said that he is who he is cause he had access to computers when no one else had it.

Ask these dudes and they'll label him a racist.

Do understand percentages? Okay you saw let say a 1000 black tech professionals at this meet up. Thats barely making a dent compared to the hundreds of thousands of white tech professionals. I also read that research article yes we use technology more than any other group but does not correlate with having a interest in a tech job.
