It's not a narrative

It's facts. Draymond Green has had no issue admitting his offense is a product of Curry.

Obviously Green is an excellent defender, one of the best ever of course.

People will chip at Bird, Wilt, Kobe, and even Shaq, for sure.

And personally, it's hard to really even call Durant a #1 for those rings.

Shaq was a real #1 becuase he was getting the most defensive attention, and still put up the numbers. Same with other number 1 options.

As where KD was getting favorable looks.

"Beg Durant to join" well, Magic entered a Lakers team that had Kareem there for him (who yall call a top 3 player) and his team drafted Janes Worthy. But we don't knock Magic for that.

"Missing the offs in his prime". Well Kobe missed the playoffs in his prime. So did Kareem, several times in fact.

"Subpar start" - not only did he have ankle injuries, so it's not as if he stunk, but he was also drafted into one of the worst organizations in pro sports. The team made the playoffs once in the prior 15 seasons, and only won 1 playoff series in the previous 20. And his rookie year he made all-rookie team, 2nd year they didn't progress, but they had another coach and he was splitting time with Monta Ellis who was another ball dominant guard who didn't pass much.

The reality is that older players have the benefit of playing... decades in the past. So they don't get scrutinized much.
Draymond was never known for his scoring...ever... his value is in being an all-time switchable defender and playmaking...brining up his offense as if it's some huge element of his career arch is completely narrative based and silly but thats why people use narratives and clearly that's what the new story is going to be...we just see it that's all

I think so. Poole will be better and I expect him to carry the regular season load to take some strain off Klay/Steph. His chemistry w/ Draymond will progress.
Wiseman will be back. Kuminga and Mody Mooses will have bigger roles. They are a year ahead of schedule to me.

Wiseman will be back yes, but are you really depending on him to become that guy that they need him to be? Kuminga is also a project as well and it's going to be a few years before he reaches full form. Their main core is aging and there's no guarantee that those young guys will become what they need right away to keep that window open. Let's also not forget that other teams in the West are catching up with them as well.

There ain’t no pressure on Weisman to be great.. just like how the dubs developed Looney and Poole it will be the case for Moody Weisman and Kuminga
