Meh difference of opinion I guess. Is Tarantino's movies entertaining? fukk yes. Would I be in line at the theater the first Friday one of his flicks are out? Fk yeah

Are they first rate though? Are they the type of movies that I can sit and watch and be in awe of the cinematography,writing,characters? Nope but maybe I'm just too snobbish after watching life of Pi a couple days ago or maybe I'm too rigid with what I believe is first rate.

I don't think all of his films are first rate, but his writing absolutely is. And he has a great ability to create interesting and dynamic characters.

I love Life Of Pi too though, hope it wins Best Picture.

It had me thinking about him.

I think he's a good director but he is somewhat overrated. His filmography is decent on average with occasional really good films but plenty of mediocre ones too. He's tried too hard to be topical and his films often get marred by self-righteous preachiness. he has made one masterpiece, a handful of good films, a bunch of average ones and a few stinkers. As an artist I think he's pretty hit and miss.

He is no more overrated than Q Tarantino.
