No group has its men just 'pull themselves up etc.' All strong groups have the whole community get behind raising their men and making sure they are strong for community's sake. This 'Black men need to save themselves, Black women are rocking' shyt is ignoring the fact that the same forces that 'help' BW will scorn BM. I have seen it all the time. BW aren't necessarily more receptive to help, they get offered more help since they are seen as less threatening.
People really want to argue that there aren't enough BM to take advantage of programs, scholarships, etc. People also want to ignore how White men and men in Europe are seeing their educational attainment crash versus their own women. But society will put a safety net out for WM having harder times. We don't get shyt.

Black women went to court to make interracial marriage legal and are the main people making books, movies, and careers about it.
