Exactly like I said he's getting in and he's still playing. He might end his career top 3 in receiving tds
I don't think Mike will play for that much longer. He should easily crack top 10, but top 3 with mid QBs will be tough.

I'm curious to see where he goes after this yea.....they didn't extend him for whatever reason :dwillhuh: I would love for him to sign with Dallas if we got the money :scheme:

I don't think receiving stats are going to keep going up and up and up. We're currently seeing a lull after a golden age of QB play, and the evolution of the receiving TE and RBs will curb WRs having video game numbers.

I'm saying that the barrier for entry because of all these other guys is going make it THAT much harder for the next groups of people trying to get in.

cause we're really debating about a dude who has 9 straight 1,000 yard seasons not getting in

It's only a debate because he is a bit light on personal accolades. As much as people want to parrot "inflated stats" to try and gatekeep, the total stats are going to still be hard to retire with, especially with injuries and not playing through them being more prevalent.

If someone finishes where Mike will (Top 5 in yards and Top 10 in TDs at 15K and 110+) there isn't be much of a debate unless a player played like 19 years to get that.

Kind of reminds me of Jason Witten. Maybe not like Tier 1 of his era. But, dude just went out and put up numbers every year. The fact that Evans seemingly gets a new QB every couple of years of his career boosts him up in my book.

But, he also may run into the problem that plagued guys in the past like Chris Carter, Andre Reed, Tim Brown, or more recently like Isaac Bruce. Or what is keeping guys like say Torry **** and Reggie Wayne from still getting in.

In Mike's 10-year career, who have been the best receivers? 2014 to now?

Julio
AB
Tyreek
DHop
AJ Green
Davante

I dont see a case for Evans over any of em... He probably next but there other nikkas who was clearly better peak for peak like Michael Thomas but Evans should be applauded for his longevity and consistency. Even if he was never a top tier WR1/2 candidate. Like there nikkas now like Jetta and Chase who are just better than Evans ever was even tho you obviously wouldnt rank either ahead of him all time as of 2023.

I don't disagree. But, I still don't think he gets Tier 1 run with his peers. And that is why I made the Witten Comp. Dude is a beast Wide Receiver but I think he's gonna get log jammed on the HoF. Right or Wrong.

Michael Thomas has never been better than Mike Evans a day in his life. We need to start separating the dudes who put up big #s cuz they played in an offense that gave them manufactured touches/receptions against true #1s

Thomas played in a super efficient offense that manufactured catches for him in the middle of the field with mismatches against small nickels. Dude is an 11-12 yard per catch type guy. I can’t even put him in the same category as Evans it’s disrespectful y’all can keep the All-Pros

We are talking about all pros, Deandre Hopkins won a first team All Pro in 2019 when he averaged 1,165 yards and 7 TDs on a measly 11.2 yards per catch. That same year Evans averaged 1,157 yards and 8 TDs on goddamn 17.3 yards per catch. Mind you he played two less games than Nuk that year

One dude got a first team All Pro cuz he had a really good year on a really good team with a really good QB in the AFC… and the other dude was on the 30 interceptions NFC team having to share catches with a breaking out Godwin and opposing teams DB’s & linebackers.

Some of these dudes aren’t better than Mike like yall think they are

Edit: oh yeah he never got busted for PEDs either
