All i see is a bunch of what ifs. The fact is, Tyson has gotten a lot of hype and is ranked higher than he should be based off of WHAT hes actually done. Which is the definition of over rated. Nobody is shytting on him, just saying that hes ranked higher than he should be.

it depends how high people are ranking him

tyson's hard to rank because his life was so fukked up

but in his prime, he was like nothin ever seen before in boxing
so yeah ppl are gonna tend to rate him based on his run
as opposed to his career after he was washed up

People tend to rank him VERY high on this board. But the honest to God truth is that his body of work doesnt justify it. Sure its nice to imagine what would have happened if he never did that bid, but we cant.

this is why historians do not rate tyson so highly. I disagree and also agree..he was doing some mean things when he was young, he was beasting his way through cats..he couldn't hold it up and just diminished pretty sooner than later..

then Prison was a wrap..im surprised (in hindsight) he got the title back and won some good fights..he was a shell longer than he was a force!

It has to be Joe Louis because of WHERE he's ranked. Most people regard Joe Louis as AT LEAST a top 3 heavyweight, yet he was flat footed, lost to Max Schmelling prior to capturing the belt, and I think pretty much every heavyweight champ after him would've beat his ass...especially if they fought in the styles of their day.
