Is LL Cool J vs Canibus the dumbest start to a beef in rap history?

LL basically became egotistical and threw a tantrum over a line that was harmless. Totally derailed a promising career. He probably intended to have the beef just to squash Canibus.

It's nice that they eventually put it all to rest but still doesn't change the fact that LL seemingly manufactured the whole thing to crush a upstart rapper for the props it got him.

cannibus derailed his own career by making a bad album.

the LL battle is the only reason cannibus' name even comes up 90% of the time hes mentioned now.

as far as canibus vs. cool j i always thought that canibus took that battle easily. i'm way more of an uncle L fan but never thought ripper strikes back was as good as folks made it out to be. 2nd round KO was the truth and killed LL


come to think of it the start of krs vs mc shan was kind of dumb too. obviously shan wasn't saying hip hop started in queensbridge when you listen to the record. it was all about the history of queensbridge hip hop only. but kris ran with it and capitalized. delivered back to back classic records that punished shan and the juice crew. great times

Only difference is KRS was a new up and coming rapper. LL was a seasoned vet when he went at Bis. He bullied the shyt out of that nikka
