Is Kevin Hart as big of a star as Eddie Murphy was in the 80's?

Bad comparison he definitely gets shyt on, I've heard a few white people refer to Kev as the new Dane Cook. and not in a good way. Jeff Dunham gets it bad also. Theres also Adam Sandler. Just because a few black people on forums shyt on Kev, it doesnt mean every black person hates on him. He's loved from my experience. Internet hate isnt equal to outer world hate. If it did, Kev wouldn't be selling out stadiums.

I usually hear shyt talking from other comedians, but I know what you mean. He's the first white comedian that I instantly associate with hack.

And yeah you got me with Sandler...homie should have been through years ago.

i feel you but if you think about it. Kevin hart really isn't out there like that. He has Think like a man 1 and 2, Ride Along 1 and 2. And about last night. That's it. Unless you wanna count his stand ups.
Just checked wiki. To add on to those 4.

Grudge Match, The Wedding Ringer, Get Hard(pause), About Last Night and of course Real Husbands of Hollywood all since 2013.

For a while I kept seeing commercials for new movies he was in. There's more black leading men(comedy or otherwise) but they aren't getting work like that. You might see them every so often but not regularly.

He's as known, I'll give him that much.
Dude ain't really had the movie run Eddie had before he started insisting on making bullshyt movies and taking bad/cheesy roles.

As popular as Kevin Hart is you know what he's gonna do the minute you see him on the movie poster. Walk in, be the littlest dude in the room, spaz and go to varying degrees of success. He's like the black Joe Pesci when writers need a black short guy with a loud voice to ham it up. Prolific, yeah; Big, not so much.

Richard Pryor has a better movie and standup catalog than Kevin and Eddie

Well Eddie may have him on the movie side

Couldn't agree more. All comparisons like this in my opinion should start and end with Richard Pryor. His social commentary and fearlessness in the face of the Hollywood establishment are legendary. Eddie and Kevin are successful and no one should begrudge them, but Richard Pryor was an albeit flawed, comedic movement. Best I ever saw.

Absolutely not. Hart is funny, but Eddie was hilarious. Plus, I like Kevin Hart a lot, but he doesn't have a classic movie, IMO. And probably never will judging by what he keeps signing up for.

Even outside of Eddie's prime, the Shrek series ALONE shyts all over Kevin's filmography in terms of basically everything from drawing power to popularity and beyond

Eddie was a lock to win the Best Supporting Oscar for Dreamgirls but he didn't because Hollywood is on some bullshyt. Even then, you can say he was in an oscar winning movie YEARS after his prime

Eddie may be off the radar but there's a reasons nikkas are sure he could make a comeback any minute...because he kinda COULD with the right movie. Kevin ain't on his level. He might be someday but sure as hell not now.
