Interscope could've went that route by pushing him earlier and harder as a Dre discoveree...But i think they did the right thing by not doing it till marketing Dres token vanity involvement with GKMC... Dre's stamp had began to diminish by that time, wouldn't have been a good look to associate him with all the failed aftermath signees

drake was bragging about being independent with so far gone and how there was a bidding war

they didnt hide the dr dre affiliation with kendrick though, they just didnt announce that he was signed until 2012 and acted like they were fully independent. Which is basically the same thing drake went through

Both can be considered plants and both were "fake indepedent" at a certain time so who cares

Interscope could've gotten behind him when Game was pushing him on Black Wall Street mixtapes but he wasn't ready yet. Smart move and gamble on their behalf because he actually became a better, more marketable rapper
