The issue ain't Burrow. It's Mahomes.

Mahomes has separated himself from all the QBs. It's not Joe falling behind so much as PM2 pulling ahead of all the young guns.

It's Mahomes >>>>>> then any combo of Jackson, Burrow, Allen, Purdy, Herbert, Dak, Tua, Hurts, Stroud etc. There is no clear "2nd Best QB in the NFL." Someone has to establish themselves and then MAYBE challenge Pat for the top spot.

Before I even read this thread, the easy answer to "is he the most overrated" is a resounding no...

•you got people who will tell you Allen is the best QB in football or on Mahomes level, yet Allen has never made a Super Bowl and never beaten the Chiefs in a big game;

•you got people now calling Stat Padford a HOF QB as if the Detroit years never happened;

•Lamar managed to win two MVPs and has never played an A-level playoff game and has a losing playoff record;

•people still gas Kyler off that one playoff year 3-4 years ago, and he didn't make a SB and is injury prone;

•all preseason mad mf's were picking Jets as a playoff and even dark horse SB team off the strength of 62-year old Fraudgers coming back healthy;

•Love just got a record deal for a QB for being elite..........for like 7 games 🤣;

•Hurts got a record deal and is clearly an inferior player to Burrow;

There's a lot of guys more overrated than Burrow.

He's the leader of that next tier below MaWhiteMan. Asking what he's elite at, he's accurate, ball placement, and he's a big game QB. He's literally the only guy who is always playing MaTrumper to a draw or outplaying him.
Lamar literally played Mahomes to a draw in the last game. A receiver tippy toe out of bounds separated that game between regulation and overtime. Off of a heroic play by Jackson. The chiefs really haven’t blowing teams out the water these last couple of years. This narrative that “Burrow is the only QB who gives KC fits” is riding off of 3yr old heroics. Allen played him to a draw just last year. :mjlol:

Mahomes is just far ahead above everyone else and just knows how to pull wins outta thin air. Burrow is 0-2 today. I mean, it seems he don’t even gotta win anymore to prove anything. The narrative always gets to be “remember when” with this guy. :mjlol:

Burrow is everything you think D.Wade is. :mjlol:

Exactly, it's made up. And the confirmation bias people use to keep the lie going is crazy.

Jared Goff is 2-0 against Mahomes.
Burrow is 3-2

Imagine how hard you'd get clowned if you said "Goff is the only QB that gives Mahomes a hard time."

Indy is 2-1 vs Mahomes, beat him with Brissett and Matt Ryan. We have his number!

I’m saying. KC didn’t even have the greatest of starts last season. They almost lost to the jets and Zach Wilson, with Zach passing for 240 and two TDs. KC is a team who is perfectly comfortable with squeaking out wins. Burrow doesn’t have sole ownership of that. But he benefits the most from Mahomes as the “kingmaker”. Burrow is both very talented and simultaneously overrated. As someone else said earlier, Burrow isn’t so much overrated becaue he isn’t good. He’s overrated because Mahomes widened the gap considerably, and yet you still have ppl wanting to present Burrow as the obstacle and rival to Mahomes as if other QBs haven’t played KC close. :manny:

KC is the gate to the super bowl. Burrow did it once, but he has a lot more to prove to be the perfect “rival”.

@Biscayne when did Kansas City lose to the Jets and Zach Wilson?!?!.. Aside from that, I agree with your post.
My bad. The jets “played them to a draw” with Zach Wilson outgunning Mahomes. Going by burrow rules, that’s a win for Wilson and an L for KC. Zach Wilson with 240 and two TDs, Mahomes with 200 1-td and 1-INT. :mjlol:

TYRONE GA!
The bar is lower for him, so yesterdays close loss gets to be another notch on his “he gave Mahomes fits” belt.

that's sadly what a lot of it is.

Burrow is top 5, but all this number 2 talk ain't it. Health and these consistently slow starts have to count. They count for everyone else.

The issue is how certain dudes get benefit of the doubt (Burrow, Allen, fukkin Herbert) despite suffering the same fates as Jackson, Dak, and Tua.

Ravens were a shoe size from beating the Chiefs after a Lamar carry job and its "Can Lamar get it done? He gotta be better as a passer despite, you know, throwing what shouldve been the GW TD pass"

Bengals lose, thanks in part to offense not getting it done down the stretch to close the gane out and its "See how tough Burrow plays Mahomes."

Peyton didn't get props for close Ls to the Pats. shyt to this day folks ignore the fact that he was 3-2 vs them in the playoffs. But with Burrow we gonna ride one half into the ground and give him "at a boys" for close Ls?

I agree 10,000%.

Dak has the worst coaching/organizational structure of all the elite QBs. Everyone knows this and jokes about it, but can't connect the dots between poor culture and a lack of team success.

Herbert has done nothing.

Allen has done nothing.

Hurts/Goff have been close but no one would take those two over Jackson, Allen etc.

Burrow is good but, you're right he gets the benefit of the doubt. NO ONE talks about flags/refs when Lamar loses to Mahomes but errbody starts making excuses when Burrow loses. No one made Joe fumble that ball except the KC defender.

That's why I keep saying Mahomes is #1 and everyone else is battling for #2....and there's no defined #2. He's the only starting QB born in 1990 or later with a ring.
