Burrow is good but he’s not the type of QB that’s gonna lead subpar talent around him into the playoffs like Brady or Rodgers.

Lamar in comparison had less to work with and still came close to reaching the Super Bowl.

Who started this "he made it to a super bowl so he is elite" rhetoric :mjlol:

Let me go watch some film on HOF QB's Jake Delhomme and Matt Hasselbeck, who also made it to a Super Bowl.
Making it to a Superbowl as a small market, historically bad team is a big deal for fans of those markets.

Lamar actually has a bit of a squad this year (Likely, Andrews, Henry Flowers)...the team is just a bit mistake ridden and Lamar tires late in games were he has to run and still pass on final drives.

If they never make it back to the Super Bowl you can say that run is a fluke. The 21 Bengals are one of the worst Super Bowl teams ever

I will say this. What Joe Burrow did year 2 and 3 in the league was impressive as fukk. He took a team that hadn't seen any real success in years and made them contenders. He got banged up the last year.

Now this year he is healthy again so he has to show and prove.

Joe Mixon, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd
Is enough to work with
Then add Ja'Marr Chase

Replace Joe Burrow with any top 15 QB in the given season, they too can get the Bengals to a SB in 2021/2022 + an AFC Championship game in 2022/2023.

Mahomes, Lamar, and Josh Allen are the only quarterbacks who can actually improve the players around them.
Other QBs need help, they don't.

Stroud is on that list. Tank and Nico weren't on anybodies radar before he got there.
Not entirely true as Nico would have potentially hit 1,000 yards his 2nd year in the league if he didn't get injured and Tank was putting up numbers in college and was in the same draft as CJ.

You still have to deliver to those weapons though and he did it with a mediocre at offensive line (which is how he got hurt). Like I said it's too early to say he is the MOST overrated. This season will show if he is for real or just a fluke.

Bingo. That’s exactly what I’m trying to convey. He’s definitely a good QB, but people overlook his shortcomings and bring up one game from three years ago.

Has he even played three games in the past two years? :pachaha: .

THREAD KINDA WEIRD
AND THIS POST IS ALSO
FROM AN OBJECTIVE STAND POINT...

YES THEY BEAT KC AND LOST
IN THE SUPER BOWL ..

THEN THE VERY NEXT SEASON
THEY FACED KC IN THE AFC TITLE GM
AND LOST ON THE FINAL DRIVE
AFTER SOMEONE PICKED UP A LATE HIT
ON MAHOMES.

SO IN HIS 2 HEALTHY SEASONS
HE MADE 2 AFC TITLE GMS
AND ONE SUPER BOW
LOSING TO THE CHAMPIONS EACH TIME.

MAKING A 2ND AFC TITLE APPEARANCE
AND LOSING A TIGHT ONE
HAS MORE TO DO WITH WHY
HES SEEN AS NUMBER 2.

The media did, they wanted him to fill the "clutch, cool white qb" void Brady left and needed someone to pit against Mahomes.

Purdy is about to take his spot.
