Is it time for the Sixers to move on from Embiid and build around a core of Maxey/McCain?

Want to tell us the last time the 76ers won a championship? nikka probably wasn’t even born when they won last :russ:

In fact, yall using our championship winning coach in of hopes of capturing one :mjlol:

The Raptors have been a much better franchise than the 76ers the past 20 years, dead ass. Those Iverson days are longgg gone.

embiid was always a clown since entering the league but it got overlooked. i think his personality was refreshing for 6ers fans after tanking for several years so they were ok with his bad diet and constantly starting the season out of shape.

this guy is a goofy :snoop:

It’s absolutely criminal 76ers fans had to endure all of those Doug Collins, Brent Brown, Jerry Colangelo years, all in vein.
Drafting bust after bust like Nerlens Noel, MCW, and Ben Simmons.
Glen Rivers’ coaching, letting Jimmy Butler walk.
The Darryl Moron-James Harden bromance experience.
All of that for it to culminate to this, an uninspired, injury riddled, and flabby Joel Embiid. Never even sniffed a conference finals despite having a perennial all star, all nba, all defense, scoring champ and former MVP.
Idk how 76ers fans can stomach all of that breh, coming from a damn Nets fan. I agree with @JoelB ‘s sentiment.
They need to PURGE that mf franchise sans Tyrese Maxey. Get the stench of that 2010’s era, “Trust the Process” bullshyt all the way the fukk outta Philly like Uncle Phil bushing Jazz out the mansion, on god.

Embiid only has short term trade value. Which is to say he has appeal to a team like OKC that doesn't need him to be a franchise changer, just to be the piece that puts them over the top in the payoffs. They'd have to manage his health ultra-carefully and understand this is a 1-2 year Title or Bust gamble.

His longterm value is basically nothing. He's on the wrong side of 30 with a rapidly decaying body and a history of being a poor leader without any sense of accountability. He can't play a full season and he's never come close to leading a team to anything in the playoffs. He'd sink any franchise that trades for him.

No lies told, but even then… whatever trade package a team like OKC would have to put together to appease PHI (i.e. basically any/everything not SGA/Chet), they’d be better off throwing that ish at MIL for Giannis this offseason or at LAL for Davis once LeBron retires.

What you’re describing with Embiid is bordering in that Porzingis category, where he’s optimal/safest as glass canon overkill to an already Finals team.

The issue is with KP BOS didn’t have to give up assets equivalent to his talent/upside, so he can miss 60% of the season and 90% of the playoffs and BOS is fine.

With the assets you’d likely give up for Embiid tho, it can’t be the same KP-like availability.

I think The Process Era in Philly has run its course.

Embiid has lost interest in not only the organization but the fans and the city as well. I know people are going to say he's just rusty and give him some time, but you can see in his eyes and body language that he's checked out.

Maxey now wants out, so I doubt it's because he wants to be the focal point but probably just wants a new start somewhere else, tired of the dysfunctional atmosphere in Philly. That McCain kid is nice, but giving him the keys this early, it's hard to say if his play is truly sustainable long-term; in other words, is this just a fluke run for him, or is he really legit?

On paper, this Sixer team looked good, probably the best team they've had on paper since the Jimmy Butler era, but unfortunately, some things are deceiving as it's proven most of their roster is either washed with old or injury-prone players or just unplayable.

Despite Joel's flaws in terms of his injuries, there are plenty of teams that would still take him but the problem is that I think if he were traded it needs to be with a contender so that it puts less mileage on him, basically reducing him to being a second or third option so that you can maintain his health, Philly has run him into the ground and that's why he's become very injury prone these past few years.
