Is it time for the Sixers to move on from Embiid and build around a core of Maxey/McCain?

Should have traded him 2 years ago. Could have gotten more in return for him.

I do believe Joel is hurt. His body is giving out. Look at the history of NBA big men who had numerous lower leg injuries in their 20s. When they turn 30 it goes downhill fast for them

Yep the time to trade him was after they lost to Boston in game 7

Embiid was hurt in college, most of his pro career and is carrying around way too much weight. He's not going to age well.

I get that part of it. It's the 2nd part of the question posed that I dont necessarily agree with.

I just don't know if the solution is to build around two undersized shoot first guards. One of which hasn't shown he can carry a team to W's without Embiid, and another who we've only seen about a month's worth of work

Players know this nikka made of glass. 6ers have given him all one could expect and more over the last decade. That said, you dont hold on to a depreciating asset in hopes that some potential future FA may be moved by your loyalty.

ben simmons, al horford, tobias harris all you can expect stinking up the court? yikes

Simmons was a number 1 prospect and he actually played for a few years before whatever that was he went through. Horford just contributed to a chip run at 50. He was "the Embiid stopper" before he went there. Thats why they got him in the first place. Were they perfect? No. Definitely had some misses (Fultz over Tatum, letting Jimmy go) but they gave him enough to at least make a CF run. nikkas lost to the fukking Hawks.
