Is it me, or are the Bears the media darlings of this year?

The local media is hype for them this year.

Especially with nothing to look forward to in the NBA season. It's never good to pick the Bears though, they usually are average or bad when the media is on their nuts, then the following year when they stop drinking the juice they actually ball out.

The year they went to the NFC Championship game was a year. Nobody picked them to do shyt that year.

lol@being disgruntled that the Bears get a little bit more pub than the 49ers. Since when did media attention > winning? My team won the fukking Super Bowl last year and the consensus amongst the media is that we're finishing 3rd in our division this year. I could honestly care less and actually like it that way.

yea for this year they are, meant Detroit aint no pushovers. altho they did absolutely nothing to bolster their secondary and run game, CHI should pass them again by a game or two

I was a Bulls fan growing up, my favorite MC is Lupe. Bears just don't seem that great

it's just that you can't seem to think us balling is possible. it obviously is better than last year, and we weren't doing bad then. Between coaching changes, upgrades, and momentum, we are like how your 49er's got great outta nowhere. We should have as much confidence as you do..

It seems like you can't turn on the TV without someone saying how they think the Bears are going to do great this year.

I ask, why? I know they got Marshall, but Forte coming off a legit injury, Urlacher is supposedly still struggling with knee problems. And Cutler is the king of inconsistency.

I just don't see the hype.

You got an aging defense that wasn't good in 2011, that shyt could totally fall apart in 2012, especially when facing the offensive beasts in your division.

I don't think you're anything like the 49ers last year, we were an underachieving team who got a new coach who brought the talent out, you guys been contending for a good couple years now.

As a fan, i`m not faulting you for being excited, fans always over-rate their squads usually, i`m just surprised I see media heads talking about this as a championship caliber team.

The bolded comments don't really make sense stated at the same time because our offense isn't what scared anyone, (we where having a GREAT game if we scored 28 for the last few years) but our defense was known to keep most teams at 21 or below. All we had to do was outscore teams to win, and had a hard time doing that when Cutler was new to the team and that Martz fiasco, and damn sure wasn't doing it with Hanie. Now we have a legitimate deep threat, new system Cutler is confident in, Bush backing up Forte, and our o-line was even decent so they should only be better. I don't buy the Urlacher braking down, but if so so is life. I'm not one of those posters that can't admit when he's wrong, or overly confident. Facts are facts, but I guess we'll see Nov 19th...

Your defense keeping people at 21 isn't really good, it's the definition of mediocre.

And as for the other bolded, when I say contending I mean for a playoff spot. And the few years you were contending the D was younger,.

Briggs going on 32, Urlacher 34 and knees shakey, Peppers 32.

I`m not even trying to say you guys are gonna suck, I just hear some of these media heads saying possible championship team, and I just don't see it.
