Is it just me, or did the Olympics actually mean something when we were younger?

Olympics were big in America when the Cold War was still popping. Also when America has an "enemy".
Personally I love the summer Olympics. COVID fukked up the vibe for the last one but I'm starting to get hyped for this one

Technology was different.
You were different.
The media was different.
So many changes and variables.

My family and I used to have movie nights growing up. Now we are all adults with families and different schedules. We make time every weekend to get together still. Watch movies, barbecue, sleepovers.

Maybe get together with some relatives and watch the Olympics like before? I'm sure the conversations would be totally different in some ways, but very nostalgic in others.

Last good Olympics we Beijing. Nothing has topped those opening ceremonies

The next great Olympics will be in Africa. It'll be a showcase to the world that that nation is ready

shyt still means something we have a whole thread on Sha Carri Richardson with people arguing and shyt. It’s just the cycle to make new stars and Covid fukked the last one up.

Not just 1 thread, Several threads. And quite a few did numbers.

Hasn't really been a big deal for me since I was a kid in 96.

It's not that it's any less of event, I think there's just so much other stuff to be entertained by, it just doesn't feel like must see TV to me.

The “masses” have Netflix, videogames, instant this and that. The Olympics are at the bottom of the list.

Only refined people watch it now.

I’m excited to watch them especially tennis 😭

TV isn’t an event as it once was so I’m pretty sure people feel that way about more than just the Olympics.

I haven’t been excited about television since Game of Thrones ended

The fact that Brazillian Jiujitsu isn't an Olympic sport shows how pussified the Olympics have become. Treason to manhood

No wrestling either. BJJ should def be apart of it
Wrestling and judo are both part of the Olympics this year but it's time for Brazillian Jiujitsu to get it's place among the greats. Especially considering thar when pure judo and pure wrestlers enter grappling tournaments, they lose to Jiujitsu.

We the ones gettin it poppin
