Is it hard for people to consider their favorites being part of the issue?

The issue being the declining viewership.

Question: Do you think the Nielsen viewing audience at home simply isn't feeling guys like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor etc? Is it also possible that they just aren't feeling the vast majority of the roster?

I've noticed when the ratings go down and guys like the above are the champion, or in prominent positions on the show or all over the show most weeks, the finger gets pointed at everything except them. It tends to either be the ever popular "when in doubt blame Roman" or find the next most convenient scapegoat and give them a pass.

I'll put it like this. Maybe the stars they're getting (with or without Roman) aren't particularly interesting or all that engaging. Maybe there's a very dull light surrounding these stars. I'm sure it doesn't help the folks at home having to see them constantly every week and constantly in recycled reruns having variations of the same matches weekly. Hell, we don't even have to get into the length or how people on boards like this hate watch it out of habit. There's also that disconnect between good crowd reactions and the needle moving sometimes...

Kinda goes into another issue. If Roman isn't the dude and the dudes they try with are barely doing lateral or doing less, who do you go with?

Who do u go with? Sasha Banks. She was always the answer. While Roman was ultra rejected, fans were demanding Sasha more than anyone. Instead..they gave the fans Charlotte....

I still find it funny they had better ratings with the celebrities and Cena, but Daniel Bryan/internet fans pushed to make their voice heard. You wanted WWROH and Vince gave it to you. Now they don't understand why the ratings are sinking.

Above all else WWE is a TV show and right now the characters don't make for good TV.

Firstname Lastname

maybe you get a wack ass nickname but you have no characterization so the nickname is plastic and meaningless

back in the day, if you were Firstname Lastname, you were a fukking job guy

you were losing clean to Hulks, Macho Mans, Snakes, Dreams, Sheikhs, and Giants

Writing sucks, characters suck, and the wrestlers look like normal people. Vince wasn't wrong about larger than life being a draw

No.... I would say more of an issue is the "wrestlers" wrestle like normal people.

Like we live in a different era and different world and that "kick, punch, resthold, headlock" shyt aint really whats popping no more. So much shyt is dynamic now. I mean lets look at other forms of entertainment that deals with action like movies.

Maybe the fights in them old black and white movies was great for that era and generation

But you cant expect people to be entertained with this

when you got this out here

I get they want to protect these cats.... but they gotta let them be a little bit more dynamic in the ring on live tv. Why cant the action in the ring be larger than life?

Its sad when cats is over here screaming "this is awesome" to a someone getting slammed through the announcer table which we've seen millions of times

I mean damn, can atleast the CW wrestle like CW?:mindblown:

They have shown repeatedly for about 10 years that they only want the guy that they want to rise up. They want a nice predictable business, not one that is gonna boom and fall when Hogan gets hot then Hogan leaves, then Austin and Rock get hot then they leave. Off the top of my head they cooled down Philbert Brooks, Ryback (wack wrestler but he was on fire for a min), Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (returning babyface). I'm sure there are way more

Were jobbers? :troll:

I see what you saying though, I know Lucha Underground does a very good job with naming the wrestlers/nicknames etc...

My problem when it comes to naming isn't so much that name of the wrestler, it's the shytty nicknames, "The Big Dog", "The Man", "Freakin" just to name a few, like come on, a 5th grader can come up with something better than that.

Because it's a dumb ass point. It's always been a rough transition going from an old guard to a new guard where ratings dropped. Every single time. Combine that with a rapid shift in the way every fan under 40 consumes the product, and here we are. Additionally, Brock Lesnar is the champion now, the most famous man on the roster. Point?
