It peaked in season 1, atleast we got Power soon
I stopped at the beginning of season 2. The cameos, mediocre 2007 music, fukkery for the sake of fukkery all began to annoy me but them casting Chris Rock to play a cannibal crime boss was just too absurd for me. Don Lemon showing up and Cookie wearing a gorilla suit left a bad taste in my mouth.
I don't watch any shows If I feel that the writers are writing as they go and it's obvious this applies to Empire where characters change alignments and motives at the drop of a hat. What is even the end game here? I wanted to support it, majority black cast and all the money that went into it, but no this show ain't good at all. That said, I don't think it's the worst of this generation.
Soap operas know how to build and carry out a storyline, no matter how outlandish. Empire has bad writing, corny music, just ok acting, and a serious pacing problem, dudes burn thru 3 storylines in an episode and give nothing a proper unfold, development and resolution. That's what makes the show even harder to watch and absurd, you go thru 4 plots and people are all over the place within one episode. All of these flaws contribute to making it a bad show.I can't believe "Empire" has ran for 3 seasons & we're still having to explain to nikkas that "Empire" is a Nighttime Soap Opera. Stop comparing it to serious dramas!!! I can't believe how much folks have wasted their time comparing "Empire" to "Power". Comparing "Empire" to "Power" would be like comparing "Scandal" to "Homeland".
nvr watched a single ep cuz it looked butt cheeks from day 1...glad i didnt waste my time ...why watch this when u get some good fukkery that means something in power. Oh and butt naked bishes
Fox Made ‘Empire’ Cut A ‘Particularly Grotesque Scene’ Depicting Chris Rock As A CannibalAccording to multiple insiders, Fox brass shot down an early idea to have Chris Rock’s character, who’s in jail with Lucious, be a cannibal in the first episode of the season. But Daniels, who directed the season opener, is said to have ignored the mandate and shot the Rock story as initially envisioned, including one particularly grotesque scene featuring the actor with a plate of human body parts before him. Rock agreed to return to the series’ Chicago set for reshoots this summer, where sources say the cannibal plotline was scaled back to the point of (being) barely detectable at the network’s insistence.
It ain't nothing but a new age soap opera, cramming a bunch of big names into 1 episode constantly.
Basically. I stopped watching after season 2 I caught on to the same formula BS with each episode every week. The same reason I stopped watching Scandal after the second season.

Had to let this go early in season 2 when they kidnapped Hakeem and got him back all in 10 minutes this show had potential in season 1, but it's garbage. My friend who worked at fox admitted the writers weren't expecting a season 2 and literally started flying by the seat of their pants once they got a green light, I can't defend shyt that no effort is put into just cuz it's black tv.
this all describes Empire
U can tell the writers r just pulling shyt out the ass as they go along

"How much longer are they gonna treat us like animals?"Same with Star. That seems like the standard Lee Daniels formula.
This actually happened?
"How much longer are they gonna treat us like animals?"
When tryna be profound converges with buffoonery.

Yep, had her getting smashed with her legs up in the air too.Didn't Empire also have Gabby Sidibe playing a character named Becky with a blond wig on? Lee Daniels always slips in some questionable moments.
Breh that shyt legit pissed me offThe season finale is utterly stupid
