Breh, I think this may the only mini-series where I had no clue WTF was going on. All I knew was Darkseid ruled the world. Wasn't he sick or dying? I can't remember.

Darkseid? The bodies who host him decay fairly quickly. The 'Boss Dark Side' host he was in leading to final crisis was real decayed when he went to Turpins body. I thought the plot device of the Darkside crew [him, goodness, goodfellow, etc] being able to possess people was kinda cool.

Regarding Batman...didn't darkseid say something to the effect of him resisting anti-life for so long, and thus Turpin being a more suitable host?

He was saying that Batman would've resisted more then Turpin and possibly beat him out of control for his body. So they never went that route with Batman. They just used The Lump to try to steal his memories for the clones.

Final Crisis could've been so good if they had let Morrison do what he originally planned and not try to cash in on it and mess with the continuity with that Countdown mess. I know he's hit or miss with fans but his Batman run is one of my all time favorites.
