A lawsuit accuses Beverly Hills, California, police of racially profiling nearly 1,100 Black people during traffic stops.
The suit announced Monday was filed on behalf of most of the Black drivers who were pulled over in the wealthy city between August 2019 and August 2021.
Out of a total of 1,088 Black motorists stopped, only two were convicted of crimes, attorney Ben Crump said at a news conference.
About a 33% of all arrests made during the period involved Blacks, who make up only 1.5% of the city’s population, Crump said.

And this isnt a thing in Florida? You driving or chilling anywhere outside of the major metro areas? :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol: be for real bruh.

You gonna chill in that whole area between orlando and tampa? Or anywhere outside of gainsville or tallahassee? Shiet, you can go right outside of ft lauderdale into davie and experience racism.

Just go to Little Havana, and youll experience racism.

That was my point. Coli tries to make it a difference between red and blue. Cali native black Americans are telling you it’s al the same.

This has been a reality in ALL of america lol. Thats a horrible example if you wanna compare FL to Cali..Literally ALL states experience racism outside of major metro areas.

No. It's not at all. Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, etc are all gaining black folks while LA, the Bay and San Diego are all net losing black folks for this reason

And let's not kid ourselves, if it's not the Bay, La, Sacremento or SD California is pretty much the deep south with more oppressive heat. Folks keep talking if you have money, but if you have money any city is popping. :yeshrug:

As a native 1st generation black Californian, it’s definitely a wack state if you are just a regular person trying to make it.

Southeast by all metrics is better for black people.

California is just as bigoted and ignorant as any Southern state, it’s just packaged differently

This is using METRO MIAMI just FYI:
  • Median wealth for white households was estimated at $107,000. In contrast, Puerto Rican households had negative median wealth (-$3,940). South Americans and U.S. blacks had a fraction of the wealth of white households, at $1,200 and $3,700, respectively.
  • The median value of liquid assets for U.S. blacks and Puerto Ricans was only $11 and $200, respectively. The median value of liquid assets among Caribbean blacks and South Americans was around $2,000 and for Cubans, it was $3,200. Other Latinx households had liquid assets of $5,000. White households had a substantially higher median value of liquid assets at $10,750.

The 2022 Community Health Need Assessment created by the Central Florida Collaborative — a group of local organizations that work to meet health and community needs — found that while white people make up 63.6% of Orange County's population and Black residents make up 20.9%, more than 24.3% of area Black residents live in poverty, compared with just 13.3% of the region's white population. Further, three of the four counties in Central Florida (Orange, Seminole and Lake) have a poverty rate for Black residents near or above 25%, while 15.7% of Osceola County's Black population lives in poverty, per the report. Meanwhile, 16% of Florida's population is Black, of which 28.6% is living in poverty, according to the Central Florida Collaborative, which is made up of AdventHealth;
