It's about time to value young women of color in leadership

Brittany Packnett is Teach For America’s Vice President of National Community Alliances. At TEDxStLouisWomen, she discusses the challenges — and misconceptions — she’s faced as a woman of color in boardrooms and meeting rooms, and urges young women of color to seek out leadership roles for themselves. If people don’t make room for young women of color at the table, she says, everyone misses out. “Far too often in America, women of color [are assumed to not] fit the archetype of leadership,” Packnett says. “Women of color are doing incredibly important work … and we can’t do that to scale if we continue to erase women of color from the larger conversation on women [in leadership].”

I'm sitting here watching this because I dead ass want to understand the movement. They started talking about Nick Cannon and his Planned Parenthood comments when he was on. My thing is sure Planned Parenthood is doing good for the black community right now according to them but if you do not know the root of the organization you support or know it but don't acknowledged how fukked up it is/was you are just as wrong as you claim CTG or Nick Cannon is.
