Is anybody else addicted to high end dinner dates?

I was just having a convo turned debate with my ‘home girl’. She was on that ‘a good man doesn’t even trip off the money he spends it’s a pleasure just to be with a beautiful woman.’

That shyt made me wanna url :scust:….but I see she wasn’t wrong that there is a demographic for it :scust:

That shyt legit irks me. There is so much more to life than restaurants. I’m in the dmv and I’ve done it a ton, but looking back it’s such a fukking waste. 2-3 random dinners is a whole solo trip :aicmon:

It’s a waste and hardly ever worth it. And the formality of it saps the potential fun. There so many better uses of your time, resources, funds, etc. Even if you gon spend on a bytch do it in a better way. I HATE eat out culture /rant

There was a Japanese place called Icca in NY that is like a high end Sushi restaurant. Got reservations months in advance for our anniversary. We basically ordered 2 of everything and some tea and it came out to like almost 400 but we had a lot of fun.

But honesty I am more of middle class type of vibe or a hole in the wall guy. Some of the best Italian food I had was in Brooklyn that was basically an Italian grandma's house with a front end.

Got any more for NYC?

Haven't been since 2019, so I'm not current, and some of the spots I went to at Hudson Yards are gone now. Wild Ink? There's a Puerto Rican lunch trunk/BBQ place that's supposed to be fire. Reviewed in the Times and all that. That's just some casual shyt. A few Jose Andres spots are closed now too, one in Tribeca I went years back. It all moves really fast. The easy ones are Per Se and Jean-George for Michelin 2 Starred.

if you follow the food section in the Times, the guy Pete Wells always reviews the best spots, but I don't read them always because it just frustrates me I can't be there lol

I ate at 2/3 of those places alone, traveling solo, figured it was worth sharing.

The most expensive and hard to get reservation, I invited someone and said I'd cover her 50% and she accepted. It was still like 1100.

I know a lot of women, but it's only the smartest and the most trusted for a Michelin invite. If they cancel last minute, you will have a hard time finding a replacement. and who the fukk is going to meet me in Guadalajara for dinner? but I did try to take two to 11 Madison, that was a once in a lifetime invite. it's honestly looking out for someone to throw them an invite like that. They'll never go any other way, most people.

Plus, it's all in the game free throws an fouls, but I would not/do not like the feeling of putting someone on game and paying, (at a spot like the 2 starred ones) then they ghost you a week later, and that's how everyone moves.

nikka. :comeon:

Yea a few expensive dinners will buy you a trip to Honolulu, but to me the experience/ memories are equal. The joy is equal.

Sitting across the table of a beautiful woman/ your woman. Top quality food, top quality service, top quality atmosphere.

Women love being taken out. They love having a reason to get dolled up and make upped up. They love feeling special and it makes you more desirable to her. It's not even about spending money on her it's about you being a man that wants to see her all fancy surrounded by fancy shyt.. This is legit primal science my nikka. Animals do this shyt. And it's dope as fukk. That's why fancy restaurants and dinner dates will NEVER go out of style.

If you regret going out to dinner with women and would rather have gone somewhere by yourself.... Ok:pachaha:

Yea pick the most expensive palace on earth :aicmon: A flight to somewhere light like Costa Rica or Puerto Rico is 275. You can book an oceanfront room or a dope IG friendly treehouse for $75 a night. Like I said, 2-3 ‘fancy’ dinners

Are you out of your rabid ass mind :what::bryan:

You talking basics my guy. Of course there’s a time and place for dinners but damn sure not to the pint of being addicted to it. Also if you really out here you’d know a real woman is tired of endless dinners. Plan some dates bruh. Activities. Get the competitive juices flowing. “Primal science”

Wife hates shellfish and most seafood. And damn near every tasting menu has either shrimp, octopus, or lobster on it.

So we don't go to those spots.

It’s cool if you can afford it but a lot of Black ppl who frequent high end regularly should really be saving. Gonna have another generation of Black adults who are financially dependent on their children when they get old and leave nothing behind.

Not addicted, but I do like to go out to them honestly. Wifey and I like looking for a new spot to try. I don't like to dress up though.

Under $300 probably isn’t high end. That’s like Ruth Chris…

There is a big difference between that and a place like Ever in Chicago

Not saying I eat at Michelin star places but there are levels to it.
If they can't make my steak well done, I ain't paying, and they better not have a dress code
